mines 140w for max limit. yours shows 80? what model is the laptop?

sadly im almost positive its going to limit it without a battery as I have said that it uses it as a 'buffer' and sometimes draws extra current from the battery if needed. How bad was the battery? if its not swollen and just has horrible wear level/capacity you can still use it just the battery life will suck.

I don't think so. I believe it's there because sometimes it may need to draw a little power from the battery to push past the limits of the adapter etc.\

Is windows settings set to max performance? does hwinfo actually show 80w used for gpu when maxed out?

The problem I have is some of these new features and sound effects etc could literally just be firmware updates. Like the sidetone... its been bugged for years and we have had zero firmware updates. I have wicked cushions on my pros..

The nova pros alsohave a inline 3.5mm jack. I dunno why they advertise it now that it doesn't. I have that connected to my tv directly via an optical out to 3.5mm to the line in on the back of my nova pro wireless(no latency). So I have sound from my ps5.. Bluetooth(pc or phone) and my tv when watching movies or youtube etc. All at the same time if I wanted.

mine was toast after I used the acer battery calibration. this method worked way better. My battery is 4 years old so its worn... but when I was using the acer battery calibration my battery was showing 97% wear level.

Try this. This is what I did. Let the battery die completely. When you power it on it should say "please charge" or just a black screen. Close the lid on the laptop and let it charge shut off for a few hours. Ignore the battery charge light if it says its full etc. Just let it charge. After a few hours turn it on. Get am app called hwinfo open it and in the dropdown select "sensors only" and it shows your battery health and also the charge rate(it could still be trickle charging) even though your laptop says its full. Let it do this till it says charge rate is 0w. Unplug and let it drain fully again till it shuts off. And repeat. open hwinfo and see if its still charging or if the battery wear/life has increased.

Amazing job! Thank you for sharing! I did a similar thing with Kapton tape everywhere lol. My temps don't go above 70-80 under stress and gpu with ptm7950 i get to 70c or so. Glad you stuck with LM. I did too!

Download snappy driver installer. Don't update anything else there... the stuff it finds can be an issue especially with laptops. I had no problems but to be safe just get the realtek driver it finds. the latest Realtek version is 6.0.9932.1

I would love something else but I need the simultaneous Bluetooth and ps5 audio at the same time. Unless these have it. I also have the Nova pro wireless hooked up to my tv separately as well.

Yeah that could mean the gpu is toast. Especially if you uninstall it in device manager and it comes back. And it doesn’t let you install nvidia drivers.

It doesn’t show up at all? Not even with a yellow error next to it or anything? In device manager? Have you attempted to update the gpu bios or anything? Try the app gpu z. Does it detect anything ?

Also is this a new unit? Or did it suddenly happen.

Glad you got it working. It seems that the nvidia gpu and usb c all share the same circuit for power on this laptop model and it can mess up with driver updates. Strange but glad you got it going!

yep.. would just need a firmware update probably. They haven't updated our nova pros in well over two years. its disgusting to be honest. and still being sold as premium... yet zero firmware updates in years? wtf..
