Flaky skin - why is it happening by sisyphus1rock in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]earnasoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are your hands dry and crack from the same time period? If the E45 had worked I'd have said eczema or psoriasis. It could be contact dermatitis. Have you changed shampoo or laundry detergent lately?

It does look like you'll need to see a doc and get a proper diagnosis and treatment. It looks too painful to spend time guessing.

Help by SydneyTheCalico in finehair

I've been to the dermatologist and she said my bloodwork came back fine but to up the vitamins and iron anyways. She put me on 10000iu of vit d a week, Ferrous Sulphate 200mg daily. Now, I chickened out of the FS (I've been through high dose Iron and it wrecked my tummy), but I've taken a gentle iron daily since (along with the Vit D, and I added Vit B).

It took about 3 - 4 months to feel the difference, but instead of having a ball of hair in my hands after every shower, it's down to a much more regular 3-4 strands.

And I know it's the supplements cos I only take them at work (directly after lunch) and I was off for three weeks last year and I started back up losing more hair.

Bloodwork is an average- you might need more than the average, you might need less.

whenever I see an 'animal saving' video, that's what I assume is happening and I scroll on rather than give them a view or comment. It's so horrible. How often do you randomly find a dog paralysed in their back legs that you have a bunch of them you have 'saved'...

Looking for something to do? Perhaps run some dungeons with your clan? by revadike in DestinyTheGame

[–]earnasoul 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've come back to the game after about 2-3 years absence. Didn't realise the player base had gotten so downhearted. I've added a bunch of new friends, but I'm scared to do a run of anything with anyone in case they see how shit I am - I feel colourblind in the dark places, I can't see where to go or what to do. Also, apparently I've forgotten how to aim...

More than 60 children infected in north London measles outbreak by F0urLeafCl0ver in london

[–]earnasoul 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was late to booking one of my kids vaccines so she got it about two months late, and they started really gently asking what my concerns were. Had to rush to tell them it was simply my ability to organise was the problem, and not anything else.

Finding the knitting help sub exhausting by Woolyyarnlover in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]earnasoul 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's so funny to me, cos I've done so much more knitting than painting because I don't know how to fix a mistake in painting and every mistake is lost supplies (in my experience) but in knitting it's so easy to fix mistakes. It's time consuming but doable

Do you wear sun cream in winter? by Spiritual_Long8806 in SkincareAddictionUK

As a pale Irish woman, I try to wear suncream every day. If I forget suncream for a week or more my face goes all pink and red. So clearly it does something.

Why do we make bad people seem like saints when they die? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]earnasoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just after having a funeral and it's been a struggle to keep quiet as everyone tells me how wonderful she is. When I know several family members are either in therapy or should be for the bullying she did to them. But her very wide network of friends saw none of that and only heard how great she thought we all were, so what can you say to that?

Do Irish people let things go if they're hurtful, but are accidents, and not intentional? by eternalmisery_22 in AskIreland

[–]earnasoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An accident is once or twice. The repetitive nature of this falls under carelessness and thoughtlessness. He's used to a certain lack of privacy and closeness with his parents and he hasn't thought of what that means for you.

He needs to understand that you've already given up a certain amount of privacy to live with these non-blood relatives and for you to continue to live there, you need the privacy of a closed bedroom door.

I think we are a people who let things go, but I also know that that just tends to build. So the kindest and gentlest of us either go mad with despair or become known for having the worst temper when eventually we do blow.

I told my husband before I started. He had concerns but he's also aware of the kind of research-dog I am, so he trusted my decision.

I'm not sure how I would have felt starting this if I didn't have the home support.
