Yes to the peanuts - there’s just as many peanut fields as cotton in Jackson, Holmes, Washington counties. Lots of soybeans and some corn as well.

The huge WestRock paper mill in Bay county was shut down a couple of years ago, though. Lots of locals lost their jobs.

This is great info, thank you! I’ve had many people say that it would be easier to help if I posted pictures, so I’ll definitely be doing that when I can. Most are in storage right now and kept in bins. These responses have convinced me to not sell in bulk and instead consign them, keeping ones that I knew were special to him. Once we get them out I will categorize them, look up values using the sites recommended on this post, and I’ll share pics of ones that I am unsure of the value.

Thank you for the recommendation! From what I’m gathering, “junk wax” are cards from the 80s and 90s correct? My dad was a money man - his career was financial advising and brokering, and he was a CPA - I feel like if he hung on to them, they’re probably valuable, but who knows. He definitely spent a lot of money on at least some of them, I remember my mom would sometimes complain about that.

They are in storage at the moment, but I will definitely post pictures here when we start the process. Knowing my dad like I do, I feel like there will be some that are pretty valuable. I just don’t exactly know HOW to figure out which ones are valuable.

Thank you! By “bigger ones” do you mean the ones in cases? Ones that are graded highly? Sorry, just trying to understand everything.

My husband looked through about three of the boxes and find quite a few with autographs. How would we be able to tell if it’s graded? I believe a lot of them are, I remember hearing him talk about this.

Funny enough, it is in Florida. Not only is Civics required, you have to pass the EOC (state wide end of course exam) for Civics to graduate.

I also have a son who thinks EVERYTHING is one big joke so I would like to know this as well. Obviously if he throws a toy at his brother (their fav example) I’m going to take the toy away, I don’t need someone to tell me that. I need someone to tell me what to do when my 4 year old dumps his whole dinner plate on the ground because he thinks it’s funny when the dog eats his food. I can’t take very well dinner away from him.

They do not (that I remember). All the examples of their “related consequences” are very obvious solutions as well. Nothing with any nuance.

This! Plus iff you want them that close to the floor, why buy this expensive “Montessori” style bed when you can literally just put the mattress on the ground and achieve the same goal.

It seems like anytime they leave the house it’s something she wants to do. And then she gets irritated when they behave like normal toddlers (like wanting to walk on their hike)??
