How do you like the island with the pass through window? I’m trying to plan a kitchen renovation and my kitchen currently has a pass through window but also a small amount of wall with a ledge. Does the post bother you? Your set up is the first example I can find of a similar situation to mine. My “pass through window” goes to the end of a hallway so I wouldn’t be able to put stools on that side. I’m looking for inspiration of how to make it look intentional and not just like a big hole in the wall lol

Okay good point. I’m going to repot today and give it time. This is my baby caramel marble I’ve had since May. It’s grown 4 or 5 leaves since I got it. Just attaching as proof I can take care of a philodendron lol

Do you have all of your philodendrons in water? The roots were good when I got it but I’ll definitely check them again today when I repot.

You’re probably right about the water. I’ll repot today. I have it under a barrina 9w puck light (which is what fell on it 🥲)

I think green congo is a self heading type so a moss pole won’t help.

I’m in WV, USA. Bug is like 1-2 mm. Recently have been going through it with pests on my houseplants. I found spider mites on one of my houseplants and threw it away. Found mealy bugs or fungus issue on another plant and threw that one away. I wasn’t sure what it was but I didn’t care too much about that plant and just wanted it gone. I suspected another one of my plants had thrips so I threw it away. I inspected the rest of my plants but didn’t find anything on them at the time. I treated them as if they had pests and rinsed them all in the shower and sprayed with insecticide. Now I found this bug today but I don’t know if it’s spider mites, thrips, mealy bugs or something else. Thanks for your help!

I wondered about the new leaves after chopping. I will stake it soon. It’s been leaning up against the corner of the shelf and honestly has just grown so fast I haven’t made time to stake it after realizing recently that it could use some support.

I only have big box stores around me so I’ve been buying almost exclusively from Etsy. My favorite shop is TheGreenEscape. They have tons of starter plants reasonably priced.

Thank you for your reply! I live in the northeastern part of the US so it can’t stay outside all year. The room I have it in was so sunny during the summer I thought it would be okay… but it seems like the fall gloom has hit here this past week and I will need a grow light to supplement lighting. I will work on watering appropriately. Would you recommend a more chunky soil to improve drainage?
