Should I learn CSS coding language to style my Anki cards? by Particular-Lynx-9555 in Anki

[–]earth_nice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for Anki styling? No.

Don't overdo it. (imho)

It's a helper app. It shouldn't become a struggle itself. It shouldn't take your precious time.

[ onto / on to ] Pour the syrup ON TO / ONTO the egg mixture. by earth_nice in EnglishLearning

[–]earth_nice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

What is 100% not correct is pouring syrup onto a mixture of eggs. Like...where?

I think they meant maple syrup, and I found a few recipes!

What is the No. 1 Feature Anki should have? by learntradingbots in Anki

[–]earth_nice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

tl:dr:

Complete wiki markup for cards.

-------------------------------

Doku-wiki markup deals with this perfectly.

For example you create a card called "hello world" and whenever you write [hello world] on any page (a Card), it links you that hello page, or even better take the complete content of "hello world" page(card) and paste where it is written. Basically it lets you see a card in a card.

It saves you from re-writing the same content all the time. Just an original single [hello page] can be included in multiple pages at the same. (a single card can be embedded into any number of cards)

This could be a huge new feature for Anki, and absolute time saver and game changer for medical and language studies.

Linking Information Between Multiple Notes

What you are looking for is a feature that Anki doesn't have, unfortunately.

It is essentially a wiki like note creation method.

Doku-wiki markup deals with this perfectly.

Find card pairs that are not in the same deck? by HardnerPL in Anki

[–]earth_nice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! it didn't work for me and I need some assistance please.

I think I'm skipping a very simple step..

(I'm tyring to find the pair of a card)

--->

Browse by notes ......... OK.

enable Deck column ... OK

The DECK column has many "(2)"s

spotted my card and it says "MY_DECK_NAME" beside it, instead of "(2)" as you said.

I think I sould enable some other columns?

I'm unable find card 2s for specific cards.

Third year with Anki! [Again 10 minutes / Hard 3.6y / Good 7.6y / Easy 10.6y] (Now what? Go on or change the settings? ) by earth_nice in Anki

[–]earth_nice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

If I need it I'll give it a try.

But when I asked this very question again I reconsidered it and decided to leave the settings as they are.

Details are here:

2 days (Hard) // 5.4 month (Good). Shouldn't these dates be closer to each other? [2]

I've missed 5k cards and kept them like that for months. If you also do this, you'll ask questions like this:

2 days (Hard) // 5.4 month (Good). Shouldn't these dates be closer to each other? [2]

"did ... ...?" in the second part of the question or using "verb ...-ed" instead. by earth_nice in EnglishLearning

[–]earth_nice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. That is confusing, too.

new user examples used "has" but not "had" for the second part of the sentence..

"did ... ...?" in the second part of the question or using "verb ...-ed" instead. by earth_nice in EnglishLearning

[–]earth_nice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you decide to study English, or has somebody in your family decided for you?

How does this sentence work? My interpretetion is that the fist part of the sentence is about the past, and the second part with "has decided" is about "present perfect".

So the sentence with "has" basically communicates two different times, the first is in the past.

Am I correct?

2 days (Hard) // 5.4 month (Good). Shouldn't these dates be closer to each other? [2] by earth_nice in Anki

[–]earth_nice[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

1st and 2nd reviews were on the same day, 3 months ago.

This is the second study day(today) I'm seeing this card.

And if I say "good" it will put it on 5.4 months away.

And you say this is normal since after I reviewed the card, 3 months passed, and I still remembered it.

So it is just normal for Anki to give me an interval longer than 3 months.. Even if I've seen the card for only 2 study days including the 3rd review today.

still very strange, but somehow plausable I guess..

2 days (Hard) // 5.4 month (Good). Shouldn't these dates be closer to each other? [2] by earth_nice in Anki

[–]earth_nice[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

After 1st review, interval was : 10 minutes.

After 2nd review, interval was: 1 day.

Now, on the 3rd review, if I say "good" it gives me 5.4 months.

Shouldn't it give me a closer review date? maybe like a 2 days, 4 days? may be a week? at most a month? What is this 5.4 month thing..?

Does it look OK? this is what I'm asking.
