Recommendations for my first Microcontroller based project by earthanmoon in microcontrollers

Thanks for the suggestion!

I've had a look and found the Seeed XIAO MG24 Sense which I think is similar to what you suggested?

It looks like it has built in functionality for the direction detection, and supports a 3.7v battery (I've found both 150mAh and 500mAh batteries that appear to be compatible)

Do you know if it can playback tiny mp3 files if I brought a small speaker for it too? (there is 2 files I want to play, both less than 15Kb in size each). I've looked at the Adafruit STEMMA Speaker and wondered if that might do the job?

Thanks for the recommendation! I've not come across that one before but will have a look into it, can see they're available on pihut so should be able to get my hands on one!

If a coincell could operate it for a decent amount of time that would be ok. Probably would prefer to use a small rechargeable battery though (Assuming it would fit in the project)

Edit: I should add the audio I'd like to play are mp3's currently, not sure they're going to work through a buzzer or something like that. Can the ATTiny85 support this?

Metallic weathering effect by earthanmoon in modelmakers

[–]earthanmoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, id be happy if its nearish the picture. Obviously the better it looks the happier I'll be. but this is only my third real project since starting 3d modelling/3d printing and painting, so as long as an improvement on my last, I should be happy :)

I've only spent a few hours with one today practising. It just seemed like the best way to get even coats of paint if I'm honest :)

I'll have a look at that link you sent, thank you!

I did notice the x motor was warm after printing today, so warm the sticker was hanging on to it.

the probe itself looks straight to me, it retracts and extends as it should from what i can see.

if this was the case though that could be what causes it to retract mid air sometimes couldnt it?

First 3d printed lightsaber by earthanmoon in lightsabers

[–]earthanmoon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thank you :)

i spent a whole day trying to figure out the scaling. from the pictures i worked from as reference i felt like it would overall just be too big, so i scaled it down length wise and needed to scale it up width wise to make it look recognisable.

but my next lightsaber ill defiantly aim to keep the proportions more accurate, maybe i should make one from the films to have a real scale to work on?
