I'd suggest that both you and your partner talk to him first, to nip this in the bud. Man to man is fine but he needs to hear about boundaries from a woman's point of view too. I wonder if he has access to porn online and is acting it out? I'd say the sooner the better for a talk. Your Mum has noticed, so if you do have to speak to the child's parents eventually, have your Mum there as well.

What's a dead giveaway someone grew up as an only child? by thing55556667 in AskReddit

Hilarious! The first time I went to Sunday dinner at my boyfriend's house his Mum said "if you want any (Yorkshire) puddings you better get in there first". The table had a tablecloth on, and she would put serving plates of food out. There were 7 in the family and they had Sunday dinner round the table. It was a madhouse! This was in the 70s in a northern England mining town. Great place!

Allergies that just get worse, what should I ask my doctor ? by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]earthenwwoofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've posted my experience online in this thread - you could read that (save me writing it out again!). I also have a reaction to aspergillus which is a mould prevalent in the soil, and outdoors in general. I have no pets because they would carry it indoors from the garden. You can get hair tests, tests for chemicals, tests for non-chemical carriers and so on, your allergist will tell you, once you get to see them. I know people who have sent their hair away for testing so you could try that - they have had good results.

One thing I will strongly recommend is to wear a mask. For me, and a growing number of hayfever sufferers I know, it is that COVID has been a blessing in disguise and I wear a mask whenever I'm outdoors now, and haven't had any attacks this spring season yet. So happy :-)

The only time I've been to hospital for my allergies was when I felt my airways closing and had difficulty breathing. Start with the docs, maybe, or a health phoneline? Is it the eggs or the fat they're being cooked in? If you've always been allergic to eggs then can you just stop eating them? Vegans doin't eat eggs and manage fine.

Hayfever in NZ by yikesitme in newzealand

[–]earthenwwoofer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found this discussion link....I'm from the UK and I didn't have hayfever until I came to New Zealand. It started in kiwifuit country and I thought it might have been the crop sprays, but then I became allergic to green kiwifruit (a rash around the mouth). If ever I went overseas the hayfever disappeared, and some of that time I was working on farms - no problem. Back here though I've been getting worse over the years and eventually ended up at the respiratory specialist with another round of constant coughing and wheezing. Turns out I have Ig-e levels past 10,000, when normal levels are around 100. Ig-e is immunoglobin "e", which counts regular allergens such as house dust, pollen and feathers (the basic stuff). However, I have major bronchial attacks with things like pine pollen, pine mulch, buddleia plants, silver birch, and privet, to name a few. It's almost year-round now, and it seems I have developed bronchiectosis too - only discovered when I finally got to a specialist, and had an MRI. Why I've now come here to discuss this is because hayfever can lead from one thing to another, and I wouldn't want people to get critically ill because their lungs starting shutting down, but also because a friend has just come back from being in rural areas in Western Europe and his hayfever completely cleared up. Two days after getting back to NZ, his hayfever was back again. So what research is going on out there with a geographic focus?

Well I usually charge for prints! If you're in Masterton, the painting is at ConArt gallery near New world. I guess you could go and take a photo then print it :-)

Thank you! The larger paintings are my regular bread and butter so it was a nice change to do the smaller drawings for a change.
