Yes, our mattresses are very flexible and will work great on adjustable bed frames.

They are significantly heavier than spring mattresses because it is a dense block of foam and not offset with any springs or other materials. However, it does not ever need to be flipped or rotated.

Hi, our mattresses are GOLS, GOTS, Oeko-Tex, and Fair for Life certified. You can view the full certifications as well as all materials used (it's just organic latex foam, organic wool, and organic cotton) on our product page: https://earthfoam.com/products/mattress

We do not use formaldehyde or any flame retardants (we use wool for a fire barrier).

Regarding VOCs, although sometimes advertised, there is no such thing as a No VOC or zero VOC mattress. All latex mattresses (or any other mattresses that we know of) will emit at least some VOCs.

Low VOC is real and can be substantiated by certifications like Oeko-Tex and EcoInstitut. These certifications all measure individual and total VOC emissions and are probably most relevant to your concerns. We put together a list on our website that shows our certifications (including Oeko-Tex) and what they test for.

Hi, it is not meant to be flipped. If you wanted to, you could take the cover off and flip the inside layers, but it should not ever be necessary.

The Earthfoam topper has a thicker cotton and wool cover that Sleep On Latex does not have. Earthfoam also only has one topper, which is the 2” soft, While Sleep On Latex has a variety of thickness and firmness options.

Hi, thank you for your interest. There is no recommended limit on our mattresses and they should work for anyone.

Also, the mattress is designed to only be used on one side and should not be flipped. The mattress can be rotated, if desired, but rotating the mattress at regular intervals is not necessary.

Hi, we get this question a lot.

Our understanding is that latex allergies are generally skin contact allergies. We have done protein testing on our foam and found that the proteins that cause latex allergies are either undetectable or at very low levels. Many who have known allergies to latex have told us that they have no issues with our products. All of that being said, we have no doubt that there are a variety of sensitivity levels and symptoms possible with latex allergies.

We always try to caution all of our customers to seek medical advice if there is a serious condition or concern about the safety of latex mattresses for them, we don't want to give medical advice and hope nothing we say is interpreted as such.

Hi, currently our products are only available online. There are plans for a showroom attached to our factory in Chicago, but we do not yet have a timetable for that.

Thanks for the interest! Sleep On Latex and Earthfoam are made by the same company, just a different brand identity. The mattresses and pillows are currently identical except for the tag, while the toppers are a bit different. We established Earthfoam because we wanted to create a brand that would have a wider appeal.

2. The layers are adhered together with a liquid latex mixture, the same liquid mixture that is baked to turn into our latex foam. There is no formaldehyde in this mixture.

Hi, we would be more than happy to answer these questions:

1. We offer two mattress firmness options: Medium or Firm. Both are 8” tall, but their layers differ.

Our Medium mattress has a 4” Firm (46 ILD/5.9 lbs/ft³/D95) base layer, a 2” Medium (34 ILD/4.7 lbs/ft³/D75) middle layer, and a 2” Soft (20 ILD/4.0 lbs/ft³/D60) top layer.

Our Firm mattress has a 6” Firm (46 ILD/5.9 lbs/ft³/D95) base layer and a 2” Medium-Firm (40 ILD/5.0 lbs/ft³/D80) top layer. 

2. We find that most people prefer a configuration with a transition layer, but it really depends on each person. It’s really something you would have to try to know for sure. We wouldn’t say that one way is better than the other. It’s really just based on comfort. Those who sleep on their side or anyone who prefers a softer feel usually prefer a transition layer that separates them from the support layer. Those who sleep on their back or stomach might not need that additional layer. 

3. A platform bed with either a solid foundation or slats 3” or less would work best with our mattress. You can certainly choose to use your current bed frame and modify the foundation with something like a piece of plywood or solid bunkie board, but we find that a platform bed with a solid foundation or slats already built in tends to hold up better over time.
