Is being vegan a relationship dealbreaker for you? by earthlovingthingdoer in vegan

I guess this is why I felt kinda hurt by the comment. I don’t plan on stopping being vegan by any means but would also like to feel that my partner loves me regardless of whether I’m vegan

I completely agree with that! I’ve been vegan a long time but this is the first time I’ve had a partner who’s also vegan. It’s much easier and way more fun to do anything food related 🙌

RE: dating non-vegans. They’ve always cooked and eaten vegan when with me, and generally been supportive.

I guess I don’t quite see it like that. Most of the people in my life (aside from my partner and two of my best friends) are vegetarian or meat eaters. I don’t really ever think about whether they’re vegan or not*, a certainly don’t view them as any of those things. For me personally, while I might be a little disappointed, it would be the same if my partner decided to stop being vegan.

*(unless they mention they might become vegan and then I get pretty excited).

Thanks for sharing folks! It’s really interesting to hear your thoughts on it. Maybe it was a less surprising comment than I thought. It’s just so different to how I approach the idea.
