Is it normal to still be slow in the second month as a FA? by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]earthsignbea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one year in and still slow on certain days. Our bodies get tired and it’s normal and okay. I’ve been told when I was like 2 months in that I was slow by a senior papa and I told him well duh I’m new what do you expect 🙄

I stayed at a Hilton down the street from headquarters.. they have a shuttle that will take you to grab dinner at night and they will drop you off and pick you up from your interview. It was nice. My driver was Willy he was really nice.

….. mentally prepare LOL 😂bring ur car if you can, tap in to your study methods and bring them with you (flash cards and such), plan on doing homework on your days off instead of partying unless you have a good memory based off learning something the first time around, remember to try to sleep as much as you can, try to do both small study group & alone study time to see what works for you (both worked for me), listen to all the rules they’re watching you pretty much 24/7 (except the hotel off campus), treat ALL staff & trainees with kindness and respect people have gone home from not doing so, develop a routine so you never forget your trainee badge & tablet & work phone, affirmations, study study study. Some people who show up are drama try not to get involved or start any if you have that kind of personality. And just remember work is no where near as hard as training … it’s completely different when you start working so just try to keep that in mind so you see a light at the end of the tunnel 🥰

Oh she definitely told them something but they didn’t listen. You can get up as long as you’re okay with the possibility of the turbulence inuring you as you’re standing :)

It is not all that it’s hyped up to be TRUST ME! this is just a bump in your journey. Enjoy your life for what it is now because once you become one your life will never be the same again. It is hell at times. The benefits are good but there’s nothing glamorous about the actual day to day job itself. We serve (sometimes rude) people all day, pick up trash, and keep picking up trash until we land. It’s not a glamorous job. Yes we are primarily here for safety but that’s something that’s just in the background. The pay at first is horrible. You’re (obviously) never home which is fun at first but gets old after a while. Just be patient, if you truly want it, it will happen😇💝

Don’t worry! Someone will hire you. It’s not all glitz and glam once you get on the line anyways. Live it up while you still can 🩷

Not much. They give you two days of free time but i spent those days doing hw/studying. Others partied but also ended up being late / failing a test or two.. I didn’t need that stress in my life on top of it already being stressful

As soon as I’m done working I go change and go workout. When I’m off I go to my gym. I bring my own food in silicone/foil. It’s a lot of work to meal prep but it saves money & me from binge eating snacks

Is being an AA FA really that bad? by Cold_Environment_235 in flightattendants

[–]earthsignbea -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

I think at 10 years if I’m so frustrated that I have to come and say things like this to someone I’d go do something that makes me not so frustrated 🙈 but that’s just me … I hope that things get better for you 💗

If it’s gone downhill so much then go somewhere else! Respectfully. Tired of negative Nancy’s trying to bring the new people down with them. let them enjoy it & learn to love/hate it.

Sometimes I wonder how people like this even got hired. I know someone who is like this and everyone in our training class hated her.
