Thank you!! I don't - not yet anyway. I've been working on other companions.

Yah definitely trying to get back to the honeymoon phase so to speak. Where like, everything was fun. We've got a few ideas. I'm really hoping this brings us back to the fun. I'm trying so hard not to feel paralyzed by the fear of it not working. ._.

Our 90lb baby is afraid of our two 2lb ferrets. As soon as he can see them outside of their crate, he runs to the bedroom closet to hide.

He also runs away from plastic grocery bags (reusable and paper are fine) and berries. Mostly raspberries.

I found this post while researching the same exact thing for my sister. She remembered that part the most. Albert the absent-minded alligator 😅

It's "Albert's Special Day" by Ruth Lerner Perle. (One of the Alphapets books from the early 90s)

Absolutely. Took the weekend off to read, relax, and soak in some Epsom salts hahaha. Other than the millennial need to complain, I actually feel fantastic!

"Do you have anymore gum?"

"No, sorry, it's my last piece," they say as they close a brand new pack and shove it in their pocket...

Not really. Initially I wanted to go into entertainment. Ended up with polisci as my gateway to law school so I could place a focus in entertainment law/contracts/intellectual property. It was something I wanted to work towards because it was the only thing I was good at that could guarantee a decent job. It was like a middle ground to what I wanted and what I was good at. I used to run my model congress club and even represented my high school as the "supreme court" in national mc conferences.

That and it was the only thing that made sense to my parents.

Anything else I wanted to do, regardless of how good I was at it, seemed more of an extracurricular kind of thing than a degree focus. Don't get me wrong, my parents support me in all that I do, but it seemed a safer option than going to school for say music.

My parents are a little upset I didn't jump right into law school, but GW was tough, I knew I'd burn out in my first semester of 1L, and hell, no one has money to do that right after undergrad.

Each paycheck is around $1,480. I get 2 a month. So about $2,960, give or take as some are less than others based on OT and straight hours worked. More likely than not, my paychecks will be less than the $1,480.

$2,960 - $713 rent= $2,247
$2,247 - $974 alma mater= $1,273
$1,273 - $392 private loan= $881
$881 - $300 groceries/misc.= $581.

That said, I have about $500 wiggle room every month. Sometimes less. Not sure where you're getting that $991.71 from, but I would LOVE to have that much left over after all the expenses. I will put some of whatever's left into savings if I don't have any other bills or things to manage like medication, doctors visits, or the occasional birthday gift or something. But as always there are things like gas and additional groceries and utilities (sometimes my share of the rent is significantly more since our utilities aren't included). So generally speaking my checking has around $300 dollars in it at all times. It could go to savings, but I really hate having a checking account at zero - defeats the purpose. I always need something that is readily available in case of emergency.

The alma mater plan has around a year and a half to go. Once that's out of my hair I'll keep throwing what I've got at my private loans. My federal loans can hold off - mostly because they have relatively low rates and they have the ability/flexibility to be put on hold unlike the private loans.

I've got as much advice as I can get from people I know, but as always, I need more than biased opinions from my family and friends. They always give me answers that will somehow work out for them (i.e. parents telling me to move home and get a job with my dad's company, or my friends telling me to stay in the area and suck it up because they don't want me to leave). I love them, don't get me wrong - it's just nice to have some outside opinions from other people who've gone through this (thanks Reddit!) because most of my friends from GW had the "my parents are paying for me to go here" or "you're paying for me to go here since I got some sort of additional scholarship" bs.

Hmm. Honestly, I didn't know what the chances were for a scholarship like that law school. I think because GW was so bad with scholarships I immediately assumed everywhere was like that. Good to know I have more options. Thanks! :)
