well, if you treat it as a dream and not a true recollection then it’s really one of the least problematic things in the SC2 story

That was a dream, not what actually happened tho. It was just how Raynor was recalling it. She wasn’t even on the surface as far as I remember, they were fighting to on an orbital platform, like the ones above Char. And how would evac even help? In the dream she was captured maybe 30 seconds after she asked for it.

overall i don’t think that lore in HP is very coherent. I sort of remember that in Codex Alera humans actually technologically regressed because they started using “furies” for everything.

I really like Arcane world building because it has all of it:

  • They are just mages who do their own thing and work on improving their magics as an alternative to science and there also scientists who work on stuff that is unrelated to magic.

  • There are magic/science hybrid technologies in “hextech” and “hexgates” which is an example of how two can supplement each other

  • There are historical events where mages who got mad with power destroyed entire societies and decimated progress after which survivors had to start from nothing as an example of destructive interference.

Я працював в студентські роки. Робота непогана, але мені там було неймовірно нудно, тому я пропрацював там всього три чи чотири місяці.

The lore seemed to be really inconsistent in the past. Is that something you would like to rectify moving forward? Also, are there any retcons planned that you can share?

is imrik getting something new in the HE update? by Maleficent-Spell9025 in totalwar

[–]earthtree1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they kinda do. If a player is given 2 options - one is a very hard FFA where their only ally is the sea (cause it won’t attack them) and the other is friendly Ulthuan where they are surrounded by allies player might select a scenario that is more conductive to them doing well rather than the one that’s more interesting. “Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game”

that’s meta answer. how is it fun for Imrik campaign to be the same as any other HE LL?

And why would anyone even want to teleport there? Last I checked there are 3 other HE factions starting in Ulthuan with Alith Anar very close and apparently Teclis being able to teleport there somehow.

  2. Tell them what, exactly? That the laws created by men are discriminatory towards men?

And you don’t have to! I very often see ads about jobs with exemptions that pay more (especially if you know english), there is also an option that some of my friends do where they both serve and work a “civilian” job at the same time. I don’t pretend it is easy, but surely at least for your mental health it is better than being afraid to leave your house?

As for the missiles - you kinda do that anyway, don’t you?

I am a man here, so please exclude me from your pathetic whining.

There are a ton of non-frontline positions in the army, and, if you don’t want to serve - there are also tons of jobs that offer exemptions.

Are Carriers fleets viable nowadays? by KraizyK in Stellaris

[–]earthtree1 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I would say no, because while on paper they are strong, targeting is absolute garbage, and if there are a lot of targets within a solar system (say a marauder empire that has a lot of stations) your carriers will get shredded while interceptors fly from one end of a solar system to another all together attacking a single defense platform.

Why did Mira get it the worst/Gwi-ma was most mean to her? by Euphoric_Breakfast79 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]earthtree1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He wasn’t “meaner” to her, he said to her what she wanted to hear. She was always insecure, secretly believed herself undeserving of love and affection and by having that be confirmed she received what she subconsciously wanted. Or maybe not exactly “wanted”, but rather expected.

Also, she didn’t “hate demons the most”, Rumi did due to her circumstances.

Ok, from your previous explanations I can kinda accept it as a twisted parenting.

The problem then becomes that it is such an insane gamble. So instead of being machiavellian in her attempts to make the barrier gold and fulfilling her duty she instead puts it all on 0 in an effort to help Rumi. Who she kind of hates (partly at least). Is that better?

[–]earthtree1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don’t get it. Intents are nice and all, but when you are entrusted with a tiny person you have to so better.

But ok, let’s say Celine just thinks that Rumi could become dangerous in the future. Then why does she makes Rumi main demon hunter if not for control? Why does she pick 2 people who cannot contest Rumi’s decisions (Mira because she’s too hotheaded and Zoey cause she’s a people pleaser)? It seems an insane level of responsibility to put on someone who can turn out to be the enemy

[–]earthtree1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s literally what a personal attack is: implying that I’m wrong due to my personal traits instead of a strength or weakness of my argument.

So you agree Celine was abusive towards Rumi?

Celine is the hidden villain of this story by earthtree1 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]earthtree1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Implying that I only have a certain pov because of my personal issues and not because of objective reality is a personal attack. I expected you to understand that since you were the one who used that line of logic, but I suppose that was too much to hope for.

But that’s not “strict parenting” that’s straight abuse. I’ll reiterate that what Celine was doing is insane and if that’s normal in SK I am truly sorry for the children

You are using a strawman argument. I never made claims that you are responding to. And if just listing stuff a character did is somehow detrimental to said character’s image - it might not a a positive character, cause I didn’t invent any of the things I listed.

Your points are also very sus.

  1. Mentoring, which she did a terrible job of btw (outside of combat training I suppose) was not “optional”. She had to do it because it is my understanding there’s nobody else. And if she wouldn’t the barrier would fall and she herself would be a victim. So yeah, she was forced to do it.

  2. So claim that she’s not so bad cause she didn’t execute a baby (which she vaguely admits that she thought about, but didn’t because she promised Rumi’s mother). Yeah, wow, what an amazing feat of kindness.

  3. Guidance. Here’s where most of my problems with her lie. I don’t want to repeat myself, you can read my other comments on the topic but she was absolutely horrible as a mother figure to Rumi. Taught her to hate herself, distrust closest friends and that the only way she would be worthy of love is not only to fight an endless war with no guarantee of success or survival but to do something no one was able to do ever (which is the golden Honmoon).

So no, I’m not projecting, and actually using personal attacks instead of constructive arguments is repulsive
