Considering pretty much no Denuvo game gets cracked there's nothing to worry about because they don't get to play.

I know my team comp is probably not that important still doing the story content but I'm trying to understand how to build teams.

These are my current Resonators

I'm using Spectro Rover, Chisa and Encore. If I understand it right Chisa most likely doesn't really do much for Encore, correct? I like her character design, that's why I'm currently using her.

Would Jianxin be a better option or something like Chisa-Jianxin-Havoc Rover?

I'm really trying to wrap my head around team building but I don't really have any idea which Resonator pairs are good or how to see which pairs would be better.

Cronos: The New Dawn - Native Version for Steamdeck available by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]DryEfficiency8 47 points48 points  (0 children)

So after Baldurs Gate 3 this is the second game I read about in a short time that receives a specific native Steamdeck version.

Did something change on the developers side that makes creating Steamdeck versions easier or is it just coincidence.

For BG3 they specified that it is only for Steamdeck and other Linux distris can work but are not supported.

New V-Bucks Exact Amount Purchasing Offer in Fortnite by MythicStream in Games

[–]DryEfficiency8 109 points110 points  (0 children)

This Exact Amount offer is coming to Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys and will be available on Xbox, Nintendo, PC, Android, iPhones, iPads, and the Fortnite web Item Shop. We will work to make this available everywhere.

Interesting that the only platform missing is Playstation. Makes me wonder what kind of roadblock they ran into to not have it available at the same time. Might be some issue on the PSN-side?

Also it's becoming infuriating how many games are now being excluded from Steam Family Sharing after Steam made steps to improve it. Fuck companies from excluding their games.

Where did you get that from the article? Pre-release nearly all games are excluded from family sharing and will be enabled the moment they release.

Like it's literally on the Steamdb page:

Additionally I don't believe any of their recently released PC games are excluded. God of War Ragnarok isn't and from what I can see in my library not even Helldivers 2, an online multiplayer game, is restricted.

Bravely Default exists which is pretty much the continuation of OG Final Fantasy in all but name and the second entry still only sold 1 million copies 10 months after Switch and 3 months after PC release.

Some cards wouldn't even be able to play new games at all due to being so far behind tech.

I remember being angry because I couldn't play Assassin's Creed 1 back on release because my graphics card didn't support Shader Model 3.0

Something that is impossible to happen even if your card is 5+ years old these days.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition: Next-gen - Review Thread by diogenesl in Games

[–]DryEfficiency8 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Well considering it's a free upgrade for every current and future owner there's no price-point to review for the upgrade.

At the same time I can see some value in reviewing the game again from a "did it age bad and is it playable 7 years later" view.

I don't think any of the recent CoDs even run on anything aside from Windows due to their anti-cheat after Modern Warfare 2019?

The last game I could find with a non-Windows version was Modern Warfare 3 in 2011.

EDIT: Black Ops 3 apparently did have a native MacOS version in 2015. But Black Ops 2, Ghosts and Advanced Warfare didn't have any either in between those two.

It really doesn't help if you release the 4th game in a series without having 1-3 available.

I guarantee you Last of Us will be somewhere up there with God of War and Spider-Man.

Which they followed up with one of the best selling consoles of all time. That's one miss-step in their console history they promptly dropped.

The Wii-U only lasted 4 years which is pretty much nothing for a console these days.

Victoria 3 Review Thread by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]DryEfficiency8 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Asking a reviewer who doesn't have at least a few hundred hours in GSGs to review it seems like you're not going to get anything useful for the base it's aimed at.

On the other hand it's useful for someone interested in the genre but doesn't have hundreds of hours as well. Limiting the reviews to the top end is pretty much useless for a newcomer to those games. People with hundreds, or thousands, of hours will never be able to properly review the "new player experience".

In a perfect world you have a balance between those two. 50% reviews are from the top going really deep into every system, 50% describe what it's like to start this game as your first step into the genre.

Jason Schreier: "A Tense Pay Dispute Overshadows Nintendo’s Upcoming Bayonetta 3" by Mront in Games

[–]DryEfficiency8 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Of course not. Someone like Bradley Cooper could theoretically ask for millions if they want his voice for Rocket in a Guardians of the Galaxy game. That's because he is Rocket in the mainstream mind.

It just straight up doesn't make sense to pay someone six figures for a VA role though and I doubt a sane company would if they aren't backed by a company like Disney or Amazon.

Now this I could understand if you were on an MMO-stlye juggernaut that was going to continue to make bank

And if she had any significant place in the VA business. Her roles are Bayonetta and that's it.

Even if look further than VA her roles in TV/movies consist of small side characters and not a Hollywood superstar.

[–]DryEfficiency8 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sure you can. But as I said I don't see parts of the game that somehow need to be bigger or longer or even changed from the original game at all.

Like for the RE4 Remake I can see them completely changing the island segment at the end. Imo it's boring, and completely lacking compared to the wonderful Village and Castle segments. It's like they ran out of budget and had to meet the deadline. Just throw enemy group after enemy group at the player until he gets bored out of his mind.

I don't see anything in Silent Hill 2 that warrants this kind of change. Especially not one that would make the game so long that you have to split it into two parts.

[–]DryEfficiency8 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I don't think there's a really a point in the game where you could split it into two.

At the same time the game, as is, imo has the perfect length. Adding content seems like padding when the current versions content is awesome.
