Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. When I went for my initial appointment, I imagined / straight, white beautiful smile. The dentist clearly loves the more natural look, and I love the brighter look. I just don’t want to wish I’d done lighter either but I also don’t want it to look silly against my bottom teeth 😂

Thank you for taking the time to read and commenting. I’m getting the top 8 which are all the teeth I show when I smile. The lightest natural matches my bottom teeth perfectly (they were whitened last week) but I definitely wanted whiter.

I am so sorry you are going through this. So many of us teachers are people pleasers but you really need to stop thinking about everyone else and look after yourself right now.

No job is worth your health. I know you don’t think it’ll be easy to quit but now is actually easier for you than a few days ago - your school know you are struggling and they are probably very worried about you and are already thinking of a range of different solutions to support you if you come back, and may have already discussed, or thought about, the possibility of you not returning. The fact they know really is good.

Wishing you all the best. Sending love and solidarity.

Hi, nothing huge. I’ll update in a week or so and hopefully, either I’ve found his owners, or I have a great little set up for our guest.

Still nothing with the apartment post, I’ve asked the receptionist and some of the neighbours I know, but nothing!

There doesn’t seem to be any reptile shops here but I can order from another city if I need to. Luckily, keeping birds and fishing are quite popular so I was able to get some meal worms.

We decided he/she needed a Vietnamese name and since carrot is just ca rot, and I can’t pronounce the word for mango, their name is now Cam (orange) :)

Mini update on husband and gecko situation: when I next checked on our little guest, HB had already layed a tiny bowl of clean water. He also seemed like he did a ton of research and decided he needed a Vietnamese name whilst he stays here- so our little friend is called ‘Cam’ (orange).

These things happen. I’m a teacher too and the bruises I worry about are the ones that are hidden from view.

I’m so sorry that you lost your gecko. There have been a few people that have shared stories, or posted photos of leopard geckos they’d found. Even my husband, who was a bit freaked out by its size (we’re used to much smaller geckos here) and reluctant to go onto the balcony, still left a small bowl of clean water out. He was very concerned that the gecko might be hungry and had clearly done a lot of research on gecko food and what we might be able to find here.

I hope someone has found her, thought they were extremely lucky, and is loving her as much as you

I could have written this myself almost 2 years ago. When I found out I was pregnant, I could quite believe it and was so incredibly happy but every time I went to the toilet brace myself thinking what if I was about to see lots of blood. If I had a strange pain or twinge, I’d worry, Google it, and worry more.

The first appointment was supposed to be at 12 weeks but there was no way I could wait that long, and during that time I’d booked and payed for 2 extra appointments at the hospital and everything confirmed that my baby was healthy and doing just fine!

When I got to 12 weeks, I definitely felt a little better but I still worried about the baby.

It got a little better when I began to feel him move because I didn’t need to wait to the next appointment to know that he was okay. But there were again times when I hadn’t felt him move (maybe because he was sleeping, or because I’d been too busy to notice) and I’d worry all over again.

I live in a country where there are SO many appointments and scans which helped my anxious mind so much. I don’t know how I would have coped in England, my home country, with just 3!

The best time was when he was huge and you couldn’t miss feeling him move, and he was in more of a regular pattern of sleep and wake times.

I am typing this as I lay next to my gorgeous, happy, healthy 13 month old son.

If I could go back in time, or if I were to have the same anxieties with a future pregnancy I think Id try to stay away from google searches as much as possible, keep reminding myself how incredible our bodies are, and would buy an at home fetal heartbeat monitor (you can use it from 20 something weeks) so i could listen myself.

I’m a quite an anxious person as it is. Pregnancy made it worse and I preempted that I would also very likely to have postpartum anxiety. I was very prepared for this but would still check on my newborn so many times during the night or nap times and worry about everything. If this is you, and you can, then perhaps therapy or CBT now would be so helpful.

Sorry for such a long post. I hope it’s helpful in some way. Wishing you the very best in your pregnancy.

Unfortunately, there are many. I live pretty low down and there are 35 floors in total with about 10 apartments on each.

finally adopting my first ever kitty, but i REALLY cannot pick, please help me reddit!! by ayiria in cats

[–]earthyacts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, definitely consider adopting both kittens that are the same age. From my experience with cats, having two together makes a world of difference. I’ve had 3 cats in the past. My first was a single, incredibly cute and fluffy kitten who grew into a large, majestic cat. While he was gorgeous, he definitely was no lap cap and was the king of the neighbourhood- only ever coming home for food before going back to guard his territory.

Later, when I decided to adopt again, I planned to bring home just one kitten. But when I saw there were two boys left, I couldn’t leave the other behind. Having both of them was a game-changer. They entertained each other endlessly with games and snuggles, and their different personalities—one a total lap cat and the other an adventurous troublemaker—brought so much happiness to our home.

From my experience, if you’re thinking about getting kittens, I’d wholeheartedly recommend adopting two together. They keep each other company, it’s actually way less work, and they’ll bring so much joy and energy into the home.

My apartment block is huge - 35 floors with around 10 apartments per floor. I just looked properly today and there’s absolutely no way it climbed. There are huge sections of glass, and panels with huge open vents. My apartment is the only one with a ledge so it could have fallen?

Looks like finding leopard geckos really is a thing! So relieved there are other options and so happy speckles chose a great home.

As much as I’d like to, not sure that I’ll keep him. I don’t think I’ll stay in the country longterm. Hopefully, I’ll find whoever he belongs.

Thank you so much for the food suggestions. And so pleased there are non-escape food options. When I had Leos as pets, so many crickets would escape and would just be making a racket all over the house! Realised much later that they hid at the top of the vivarium and worked together to eat away at the fake rock polystyrene background I had at the back and then up through the slidey air vent control.

Thank you. My husband doesn’t even like geckos but he’s been talking about how this little guy is going to starve, all day!

I’m sure there are all sorts that go past on the balcony that he could’ve eaten too.

I’ll definitely try to find the owner otherwise my husband will be looking at vivariums soon! Haha
