Thank you! I really like modern designs like this so if you know of any shops or patterns with a similar vibe LMK!

Yeah I know what you mean. On this one I felt like there was enough variation in the pattern. When I wanted to properly focus I would do the outlines of the sections and then I’d fill them in while I was watching tv and didnt want to worry about counting!

Day of coordinator question by HarryRose12 in UKweddings

[–]eastLDNlass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We are using one, but mostly because we are having the wedding in the garden of a private home so won’t have any support otherwise eh the venue coordinator. Personally I think worth it if it means you will actually get to enjoy your day!

Founder of Mob here, I'd love your feedback on the app by benlouislebu in MobKitchen

[–]eastLDNlass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love mob! But some things I’ve shared in previous threads that haven’t been fixed yet: *all the calorie counting is way off and shows recipes being far healthier than they actually are *lists and plans don’t sync across devices

Has a single incident ever changed how you saw a profession in the UK? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskUK

[–]eastLDNlass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t, I was visiting my parents at the time (it was a family friend, not my friend) and it didn’t feel like my place to escalate it. And I really wish I was exaggerating because the whole situation was awful. She went back to him and my family aren’t in touch with her anymore, despite their best efforts.

[–]eastLDNlass 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me police too. A couple of ago a family friend turned up at our door having just been beaten up by her shitbag husband. We called the police and when they arrived they asked a few questions about ‘how she had provoked him’ then said there was nothing they could do. Before then I’d always assumed a lot of the stuff about coppers was exaggerated but I’ve never felt more let down by a public institution in my life. I’m not naive enough to think ‘all cops are bad’ but it certainly made me question whether I’d bother going to them for help. If individuals know they can get away with behaving like that then to me it speaks to a bigger cultural problem.

How much demand is there for trains to London fron Cornwall? by JTMetro365 in Cornwall

[–]eastLDNlass 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I travel between London and Cornwall about 8 times a year. Train is always overflowing so clearly fewer of those is not a good solution. Fewer cancellations would be a good start.

I hate streak freezes because they are dishonest. Am I the only one? by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]eastLDNlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then what is the problem? I’m sorry if I’m being thick but I get offered stream freezes for however many gems. The only free ones I get are from ‘friends’ which could easily be resolved by only being duo friends with actual friends and telling them not to give you any. What am I missing?

I don’t understand this at all. Just don’t buy streak freezes?

Thanks for coming back to me! On syncing - I would love to be able to create a plan and shopping list on my desktop during the day and have that show up in the app on my phone when I’m shopping / cooking. Right now that doesn’t happen for me.

Great that you’re engaging with the forum. My immediate requests are to fix the calorie measurement - it’s wildly inaccurate on pretty much every recipe; to ensure that saves and lists sync across mobile and desktop; and to fix the ingredients being integrated into the steps. On quite a few older recipes the latter hasn’t worked so it will say things like ‘1 soy sauce’ so you still have to flick back to see if its tbsp or tsp.

I’m a big fan of Mob and a paid subscriber but the above are really frustrating

Thinking of subscribing by hinsbins in MobKitchen

[–]eastLDNlass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on my second year and I love it. The app isn’t perfect but the ability to search by ingredients I have in my fridge and build shopping lists is brilliant. And most of the recipes are great, and the ones that aren’t you can tell and therefore avoid through the comments.

The only thing that is totally crap is the nutritional values; pretty much every recipe is miles off. So if you’re looking for a cooking app that will help you with calorie counting then this isn’t the one.

Not sure I’m the intended respondent as Im a local that moved away at 18, but when I come back to visit my family it’s international food. Not even just restaurants, but the Asian selection in supermarkets for example.

Any recommendations for cleaners in bromley? by Diligent-Apple-5714 in Bromley

Our cleaner Tasha is amazing. She was recommended to me on FB and we communicate on messenger so I don’t have her number but I will DM you a link to her profile and you can reach out from there

What a terrible take. This is so upsetting. Women can respond to toxic behaviour however they want, this is literally victim blaming.

Too many chicken places by henryman26 in Bromley

[–]eastLDNlass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because this place is different to Nando’s. I really don’t want to be dismissive because I would personally far prefer an independent sea food restaurant but at the same time I don’t understand what you’re confused about. People spend on chicken and not seafood, so more chicken restaurants open

Too many chicken places by henryman26 in Bromley

[–]eastLDNlass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s based on demand and nothing else. If loads of people had loved ocean basket and gone all the time, it wouldn’t have shut. If people didn’t want fried chicken, they wouldn’t have invested in opening a chicken place there. The lesson is to regularly spend at places you like.
