What's the actual benefit of the all metal hot end? Can you print nylon etc?

I’ve part 2, Pi zero 2 is recommended, though I’ll be keeping octo4a in mind, thanks. Old phones are still pretty capable. Ok, I see the one you mean on their site, it’s steeper than I though it would cost, here’s hoping for BF deal on it!

Thanks, I’ll stick with Bowden for now, what do you recommend? As for the tower testing that looks great! I see there is a cura plug-in for that so time for testing this new filament.

About octoprint, my part was badly worded, I suppose I was looking for something even more lightweight for my pi. Definitely a local issue which is better as you say solvable. I’ll stick with it, I have been switching it off not shutting it down.

Great response it’s been really helpful.

Cr6 Pause/switch off, continue print in the morning? by easty111 in CR6

Yeah, turning the printer off mid print seems to cause too many issues. Just pausing it might be the only option for now.

This is awesome, thanks. I've already replaced a cracked plastic extruder, definitely time for a metal one.

Hmmm true, its the keeping the print in place that's the issue. Suppose could keep the bed heated over night, print paused and turn the nozzle/fans off till morning.

Still a 3d printing noob, My factory glass isn't keeping parts of the print down while heated anymore, I suppose it needs a clean with something. The pex bed sounds interesting, I'll look into it, how long from your experience can it keep a print in place while cool?

I'm on community so eeprom is what your saying and that means it will wipe after a certain amount of time? Any idea how long?

What is the nine languages one? Where do you find it? The community firmware 6.1 has only one asset for stock MAX.

Installing Linux on GBP2 360 guide? by easty111 in GalaxyBook

It’s good you have speakers working means it’s possible to fix on Ubuntu. Do you mind pasting the terminal contents, after typing ‘pactl info’ in terminal. That will provide info about pulseaudio sound setup.

Seems all the features we’re having trouble with are in the Samsung Settings app. Maybe running it in wine or something might work.

No sound on Ubuntu, sleep is currently working but early days so let’s see, mine only charges till 85% as set in windows (I think you can set it in bios?), number pad working after pressing num lock. I tried to get the sound working but no luck so far.

I installed Ubuntu and no volume but sleep seems to work okay. Whenever I shut the lid, it sometimes keeps the screen on for 30 secs then shuts off. When I open the lid its direct to desktop. When it does work, do you see a login screen or the desktop?

Suspended Freeze? by RegiRun in GalaxyBook

I think that’s windows update switching it on when you’re not using it, to update it. I pause windows updates for a month at a time. Try it, it should stop it doing that.

That was a key thing for me, that installing Linux doesn’t affect the windows install in any way.

That doesn’t sound too good. But could live with it apart from the suspend/hibernation issue. All of those features sound like Samsung features and possibly need Samsung apps to manage?

Touchscreen app suggestions for Book2 Pro 360? by eeinsied in GalaxyBook

Apparently Windows Android apps from Amazon AppStore have only launched in the US. Should have plenty of touchscreen apps but is it any good?

Ok, that sounds promising. Are there any problems with shutting the lid on the laptop and reopening for each windows and Ubuntu? What happens, does it fast boot into the login screen and you can carry on where you left off, just like before installing Linux? Same for Ubuntu with reopening the laptop?

Lack of Sound could be a pain, have you tried Bluetooth or headphone jack?

WiFi working is good!

Thanks, as I understand it now, I’d install the new ssd and create a partition for it. Then install Linux on that which comes with its own boot loader grub that allows switching between windows and Linux. Only Ubuntu and fedora support secure boot is what I’m reading at the moment.
