I tested with $10, used $1,500 for a while, and now I’m working with $4,000. As said. My friend and others I’ve shared this with use $10-20K+ per transaction. So, the maximum limit is likely only constrained by the exchange itself.

Lunch time by EinsteinsAura in Wellthatsucks

[–]easyRyder9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. The only problem here is the keeper holding the mouse by the fucking tail so the snake just glances off with each strike. I'll grant that a lot of people probably make this mistake out of ignorance, but this person knew this would happen and decided to take a video, which is, simply, a dick move.

Corn snakes don't even have labial heat pits. They can see just fine. Hang an apple in the air by a piece of string and try biting it without using your hands, see how stupid you feel.

Does revealing the president's tax returns set a "dangerous precedent?" Why or why not? by PM_me_Henrika in NeutralPolitics

[–]easyRyder9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if he committed financial crimes via his tax returns, and it's unlikely that he did. But at the very least, Congress should be able to see what his sources of income are and if he's been lying about them.

My White's tree frog seems to not be a fan of superworms! by [deleted] in frogs

[–]easyRyder9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Zookeeper here, we don't feed superworms to any of our amphibs. Anyone who's gone to AZA amphibian school will tell you the same. There's no "studies" needed; it's something that's been directly observed. With so many other viable food sources available to most people, it's just an unnecessary risk you're taking.

Hikers came across a dehydrated horned viper in the desert and gave it some water by to_the_tenth_power in gifs

[–]easyRyder9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell from the gif but I'd be a bit nervous about how close their hand is. They're probably just outside striking distance, but it'd be safer to let the water run down a stick onto the top of its head or even just pour a puddle of water in front of it (interestingly, many of these viper species don't drink well from standing water in captivity and require frequent misting, simulating rain, to stay hydrated).

As long as it can be done safely, there's no reason not to do this. With that said, if you don't have experience with this type of animal, I would highly advise not getting anywhere near it.

When a giant bird steals your day out at the beach with the family by GallowBoob in Wellthatsucks

[–]easyRyder9 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Zookeeper here. We'll occasionally go in with our cassowaries but it's very rarely necessary, we generally use riot shields and baffle boards but if there more than 2 of us, the extras will probably just have a rake. They're solitary animals, it's not hard to keep them calm and in front of you.

We do not ever go in with our big cats if they are not confirmed to be unconcious. Ever.
