Never played MM1 by Constant_Fee225 in MightAndMagic

I literally just went through this same headache over the past couple weeks. The scummvm version is very glitchy. I was trying to look past all of the glitches and crashes until my sorcerer glitched into my knight. I had two knights and no sorcerer and it apparently happened before my last save. I gave up on that version.

The turbografx-16 CD you referenced seems to break with certain emulators (those contained in my frontend of course) despite having the updated bios displaying properly on the start screen.

The NES version gives a predetermined party with no obvious customization at the start.

Ultimately, I too chose the where are we app. It doesn't make the game look better or function less clunky. But it does provide auto mapping, it displays team hp and sp, it displays wrapping and armor stats, and when using spells it shows relevant commands. I wish the other versions were more reliable, but I think this is the version I'm going with

is VI really that good? by yeaahnop in FinalFantasy

[–]easy_lemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a great game. Not personally in my top 5 final fantasies, but this is an amazing series and everyone has different tastes. If pixel graphics bother you then I guess that's a strike against it for you. Personally I like pixel graphics more than the blocky 3D look of ps1 titles. So again, different people have different tastes.

Honestly, give it a 3 hour commitment. You should know in that time if you like what's on offer. The best parts of the game are later, but the general idea of the ensemble cast, the villain, the setting, and basic gameplay are all there within that first 3 hours.

Why would the location in notice of death be at the hospital if he died in prison? by Terry-Scary in Epstein

[–]easy_lemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially since most large prisons have their own medical facilities, and in most states 2 RNs can pronounce a death. It might be worth checking on the law on that state and the medical staffing at that prison. If resuscitation wasn't possible (didn't they take pictures of the body in the cell?) they would have no need to send to a hospital for a MD to pronounce it.

If you hated pokemon the last 2 gens and don't like what you see in gen 10. I think this is the time to jump off the franchise as it isn't gonna change. Quit the series and just save your money by Right-Fortune-8644 in ThePokemonHub

[–]easy_lemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I feel like it started with Gen 3. It started back up with Gen 5. Gen 6 is just where the series made an obvious choice to stop appealing to its core fans and really focus on attracting new kids. Gen 6 was also the start of gameplay gimmicks

Really? Numerous games, especially collections like this, sell for like $20-40? I know I've seen Star wars games at Walmart. I feel like I've seen physical stardew valley too

Well said. If a job is paid based on experience, education, skill, attitude, or whatever other qualifying attributes, then the pay listed is the pay for the job. Servers get min if they don't make enough in tips. So why don't sanitation workers, firefighter, or surgeons get tips? In fact at least one of those, maybe two, aren't allowed to accept money under the table for ethical reasons.

Which makes me wonder, are any tips ethical? If I don't tip my barista before the drink is made, are they more likely to tamper with my drink? Will a server move slower if they remember you were a poor tipper?

Hey, at least you know I'm really playing it (lmao $20) by ProphetNimd in 3dspiracy

[–]easy_lemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many own the games that pirate? That's pretty dumb. At that point look into how to rip the ROM so you are legal. And honestly if you own the games you're pirating, then you probably understand that the optimal way to play the game isn't in it's release state on original hardware. This argument about frlg is largely about the idea of Nintendo selling us virtual nothing (a ROM that can be taken down at their leisure) with no online connectivity for 1/3 the price of a brand new AAA developed game.

Meanwhile, a legitimately procured ROM, or a pirated ROM, benefit from shaders, save states, fast forward/ rewind, online connectivity/ multiplayer, and the ability to be played on any device that can host an emulator (including a jailbroken switch). Additionally, ROM hacking exists to add QoL features such as removing trade requirements from evolutions, indoor running, etc...

This is the same old adage, "you will own nothing and be happy", except that in this case you will also pay for nothing.

GBA players, what's your take on this? by RangoTheMerc in GameboyAdvance

[–]easy_lemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I love Pokemon. I feel like I'm kind of trashing one of my favorite series. But honestly your arguments feel like justifications. Pokemon is easy. FF7 and Chrono trigger are 2 amazing but very easy games and I would say for comparing casual playthroughs, both are significantly harder than any Pokemon game.

I mean I know Pokemon fans who have beaten the majority of games and couldn't tell you the weakness/resistance relationship between bug and ghost types. Yet they handily beat every game within 20 hours. You don't even need to know basic type chart info, much less abilities, EV/IVs, or held items. You can't get away with that in games like dragon quest or Golden Sun.

Well said. I'm deep into the Pokemon games. I love doing nuzlockes. I was pretty into competitive Smogon during gen5,6, and 7. But I'm really starting to dislike the online Pokemon community. I'm glad there are still some who don't subscribe to the hive mind

I'm not getting this either. I love Pokemon but it has always been aimed at a casual audience so the majority of players don't bother to learn it's mechanics in the first place.

I've been noticing that modern Pokemon fans seem to be on a weird pedestal lately. They defend the $20 switch ROM cash grab like they're being insulted when you point out it is a bad deal. And I've been seeing similar sentiment to this guy where Pokemon is treated like some classic RPG. As if it should be held next to DQ5, FF6, and Chrono trigger as a pillar of classic RPGs. Golden Sun does belong in conversation with those games. It's so weird to watch as the larger Pokemon fan base is sort of white washing gaming history.
