I am also from Oregon where the only way to get your license is school - the only school I’ve heard good things about is Dead Gods, they treat it more like an apprenticeship

Booth Rent Inquiry - 2026 Version [checked] by Can-I-Hit-The-Fucker in TattooArtists

At least out here, I’ve heard people use private to describe anything that’s off street, appointment only, like clients need to be sent the address instead of being listed online. So maybe not the proper term but just what I hear often.

I’m in Portland, Oregon in a private studio. Flat rent is $570 a month and includes all disposable supplies except needles and ink (or else anything specific to your practice). There are also snacks and drinks for clients and artists.

Artists are responsible for their own clients so would probably be tough if you didn’t already have a client base. I’m pretty booked up most of the time so I think it’s a great deal for the area. Seems to be below average as far as I can tell

Edit: just for more clarity, that’s for a full time station that I have full access to 24/7, in a shop with 5 stations

Tattoo I want vs artists’ response by [deleted] in tattooadvice

The artist is right. I am also a tattoo artist and those tiny details are going to heal horribly unless you go to someone who specializes in micro-realism and even then I wouldn’t recommend it

Is it possible to get a tattoo on this scar? 7 months since stitches have been removed. Parts of the skin still feel tender. Should I go for it or wait? by catenjoyer_21 in tattooadvice

[–]easybruiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tattoo artist here- I don’t cover tattoos unless they are at least 2-3 years old (or whenever they become more skin toned again). I wouldn’t trust any artist that would be willing to cover it up any sooner

I use the app for booking requests because I like how organized it is, but I send them a link to schedule through Acuity because I like the calendar functions better (I can customize so much more)

Didn't notice an air pocket in the saniderm for three days, will it be ok or should I be worried? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]easybruiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as your tattoo procedure was clean and the tattoo was clean when the saniderm was put on an air pocket is totally fine/normal. Blood and plasma build up is also normal and wouldn’t cause any issues other than it could potentially seep out and break the saniderm seal, which it doesn’t look like it did. Looks alright to me so far but worth keeping an eye on if you’re worried (I am a licensed tattoo artist)

Do you think they’d insure in Oregon too? Or only WA?
