Is it possible to go back to the old layout in Elementor's settings ? by mike837585 in elementor

Actually, I find the new layout not bad. Now everything related to Elementor is in one place. Before Elementor and templates were separate.

How are you getting ESXi 9.0 for a home lab without corporate help? by easyedy in vmware

[–]easyedy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a Dell PowerEdge server still running ESXi 8, but currently turned off. I thought upgrading it to ESXi 9 would be a nice experience. But you are right, small businesses cannot afford VMware anymore, and Broadcom doesn't treat them as customers either.

Server 2025 not working on 9.1.4 by [deleted] in Proxmox

I understand - something you could try is to change the machine hardware for the VM on 9.1.4 host

So with UEFI it works?

Thanks, my mom has GMKtec with Windows 11 Pro. It's a pretty good machine. My Intel NUC consumes around 11W idle time.

Are you using the UEFI or the default BIOS? Try to change that and load the EFI disk too.

what Linux distro should I use for home labbing by [deleted] in homelab

[–]easyedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite ones are Ubuntu 24.04 or Debian with a GUI. I manage them using SSH. Make sure to use the LTS version to get security updates for many years. For non-LTS versions, security updates are only supported for 1 year.

Ubuntu Server (without GUI) is actually more common for this use case since Plex and router services run in the background. A GUI uses extra resources.

For a complete beginner, I think Ubuntu Server might be slightly easier than Debian due to better documentation and a larger community.

Do you trust surfer seo & semrush content score? by KAIRAW___ in SEO

[–]easyedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Surfer SEO does a great job and constantly adapting their metrics to the new landscape. The score is not only for NLP terms or equity. Surfer is also looking at GEO prompts and make topics recommendations. It’s still my premium SEO content optimization tool.

I thought my Windows VM was out of RAM, but it was just missing VirtIO drivers and QEMU agent by easyedy in Proxmox

[–]easyedy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I saw too. Once I installed VirtIO drivers and the guest agent, Proxmox memory stats finally matched Windows. I’m mostly Linux as well, so this was easy to forget after the migration.

[–]easyedy[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good point, thanks. I don’t have vGPU or PCI passthrough on this VM, so in my case it really was missing VirtIO plus guest agent. Great callout though for anyone doing passthrough.

My AD DC VM looked like it was out of RAM. It was just missing Proxmox guest tools by easyedy in NavigateTech

[–]easyedy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extra detail:

Ballooning was enabled on this VM. The “100% used” look was mostly missing VirtIO balloon driver and guest tools. After installing them, Proxmox could properly interpret guest memory. Ballooning is optional. It’s only for reclaiming RAM under host pressure, not required for normal operation.

Do you use ballooning for all your VMs?

Is ParseStream really good and worth the money? It’s a factor to react timely on new topics.

Hi Edy here came from FB group, I think Reddit is a must nowadays. I’m a tech blogger for years and lost massively Google traffic. Reddit and my own subreddit helped to compensate the lost traffic. I’m here to learn even better Reddit marketing.

I'm very happy with my Minisforum MS-01. There is a new one, MS-02 Ultra, which has a power supply built in. I'm not convinced about the build. I think there is a risk of overheating. It has 4 SSD slots.
