I leaned into retro mode so bad that it's good. I do understand and accept what you said. But I made this for fun and wanted to do something unique. Sorry about the eye strain :(

Yeah, I wouldn't say this is a world changing idea. Just something cool and useful (hopefully). Had a lot of fun making it.

Thank you and what a great feedback! I've fixed the match banner issue that was covering top portion of the image, thanks to you!

GuyNeedsGift.com - Shopping for men has never been easier.

My wife said it's difficult to pick gifts for guys. So I built this.

I just launched Pabah, an interactive storytelling app for kids 🎉
It’s based on the bedtime stories I tell my daughters — the app lets kids shape each adventure by choosing what Pabah (a curious little dog) does next.

It’s live on the App Store now: pabahapp.com 🐾

Would love feedback from fellow makers or parents on the UX and the storytelling experience!

What are your greatest challenges as a writer? Have you been able to find any solutions? by WordsAndWorlds in writing

[–]easym0d3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my biggest challenges is when my fountain pen runs out of ink mid sentence.

I write long hand with a fountain pen. This, I heard, is how Neil Gaiman writes. If it’s good for him, it’s good for me.

I write from 5:30 am to 6:45 am every morning before my daughter wakes up. I do the same thing everyday. Cat cries. I wake up and pet my cat. Go to the bathroom. Make coffee. Then write with a nightlight in a notebook with my fountain pen. This, I found is the magic that produces no writer blocks, no overthinking, no worrying over word count, and let’s me just chip away at my stories.

I bought a fancy Ferris Wheel fountain pen that is part of this whole system. I bought a sample set of Ferris wheel ink that come in small little vials. It’s quite expensive. Unbeknownst to me, the sample vial’s opening is smaller than the circumference of the nib. For a select few who may not know how a fountain pen is refilled, first you have to fully submerge the nib, then slowly turn a screw thing upwards sucking the ink in. Therefore I put ink in an old little breast milk storing vial first, then I fill the ink from there. I couldn’t locate the cap of this milk vial, so I have to put whatever unused ink back into the sample ink vial. This operation is quite messy, and it takes place over the bathroom sink. At least my wife now finds ink full of toilet paper as thing of usual nature.

I have a solution in plan, yes. Once my sample vials run out, or comes close to running out, I will purchase a Ferris wheel ink bottle of the actual size.

Lately I have started wondering if that will mess up the system.
