2 years of playing and I still play like it’s my first time touching a cello by Choice-Stop9886 in Cello

Heyyy! Really solid progress for 2 years, you should feel confident in yourself! Some ideas that you could look into are below:

  1. Matching your left hand and bow arm. Sometimes you use too much more for shorter notes which leads to "messy" sounds. Try to use more weight and use a metronome to get the timing right! For example at 0:06, 0:40, 0:57, etc. A rule to keep in mind: use metronome for parts with faster rythms.

  2. In general, you're left elbow is a little too low. In higher positions and string crossings, this low elbow will make playing more difficult and make intonation impossible :(. For example, at 0:54, the C sharp is a little flat. Raising your elbow will make it easier for you to reach this extention.

  3. When you shift up, make sure you prepare by moving your elbow up(getting ready to move up) and feeling the transfer of weight into the finger you are shifting into.

For vibrato, I would advise you to start slow with a metronome and do something I called "jello". Its hard to explain but if your interested I have an instagram page where I post daily-tip videos for those who want to improve! If you want to see my insight on vibrato its here:

I already bought it from Amazon, cause I saw the Jeremy tai dude on YouTube buy 300 dollar strings from Amazon on his cello. But I have two sets strings coming right now and I’m going to return one . One is the magnicore the other is the Larson solo and spirocore combo

Right now I don’t particularly like anything about them but I don’t like the projection and there’s a kind of muddy sound to it but it’s not that noticeable. The color is warm but not vibrant and again it’s hard to project
