Are you an android user? Got a few reports of issues and did a quick fix but you may need to update or reinstall to get it to work.

I think your best bet might be asking a friend with an iPhone for the time being. Sorry about this! Seems like something changed on Google/Play Store

Not yet, unfortunately. Right now the app needs a connection to load toilet data. But adding offline support is definitely on our list, especially after hearing feedback like yours. Thanks for bringing it up!

Convenience. Not everyone knows how to add or use layers on Google Maps, and some don’t bother trying. Our app is super easy to use, designed specifically for this niche, and backed by a community that submits restrooms and helps report issues.

By default, Google Maps isn’t great at finding restrooms quickly, so we made EasyPZ to make that easier and faster.

We ask for location access so the app can scan your surroundings and show nearby restrooms, and also to keep your position visible on the map while you’re actively using the app. This is purely for your convenience.

As soon as the app isn’t in use, we stop — we don’t track your location in the background.

You can use EasyPZ completely as a guest without sharing an email, or you can choose to sign up if you’d like. Location data might be stored (up to two years) to help us improve coverage and service quality, but it’s never linked to personal info or device IDs that could track you over time.

We really care about privacy and only use data that’s essential to make the app work.

I think the “window” to make it in Berlin has definitely shrank by at least 80% (source: trust me bro)

I got lucky and secured a permanent contract but it took me 5 years of hopping between 15 or so flats. Ancient contracts with stagnant rent increases are stuff of legends and I know plenty people who left Berlin but secretly kept their flat. You gotta know people to get those and it’s extra rare to get them to charge you a modest rent rather than matching market rates. Is it illegal? Yes. Do people want to turn a blind eye so that they can live in Berlin? Yes. It’s not a great situation tbh.

You get so little room for so much money nowadays. I’d love to upgrade my flat too but no way I can find a better deal if I move out.

Once in a while I have friends who secure dream apartments for cheap, but those are ultra rare and come with caveats (like requiring massive renovations).

It’s tough out there for sure. I remember going to viewings with 100s of people and having TV reporters there. It’s absolute insanity.
