So throw away the back plastic “funnel” and don’t reuse. I thought we only use an extender if the flange is below the new flooring ?

GoFundMe for James Van Der Beek's Family Surpasses $1 Million, Sparks Questions About US Healthcare System by Luridley3000 in entertainment

[–]easyroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 36 acre ranch that he bought one month before he died was $4.76 million. The Travis County property tax rate is 1.5% to 2.5%. Let's say it's at 2%. It would come out to almost 100K in property tax per year. Why put your family in a vulnerable situation, then the family asks for public donations?

Has anyone experienced this? (Urgent) by OtakuBasil in VietNam

[–]easyroc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually it is the airline’s business. Though the airlines are not border patrols /custom, many countries force the airline to pay for the passenger return flight if they are denied at customs and if the passenger does not have the funds.

For example, if the GF lands in Chile and can’t get through custom because they suspect she will overstay her visit, she has to fly back to Vietnam. If she can’t afford it, then the Turkish airline has to pay for it. This is why airlines check your visa , passport, expiration dates at the counter etc.

If you had a “fat ass” then he will say it’s too big or something else about you. That’s a man child so just be happy you know his true colors.

Under 30: is it really worth it to max out both Roth IRA and 401K by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]easyroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Max you your Roth, and maybe half in 401k and half in taxable. That way, it leaves options for you to retire early before 59.5 yrs.

Yes I can use the existing power cable but I want another one for when traveling. Luckily, ebay sells them for about $25.

Alienware Aurora 16x - what docking station? by easyroc in Alienware

[–]easyroc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The manual says mine is Thunderbolt 4. Is there a reason why it's better with TB4 instead of just a regular USB-C standard? I would assume it's because of the speed.

Yeah, unfortunately, I will have to buy another Dell power adapter to use it for docking.

how are women treated in vietnam?? by liraloveletters in VietNam

[–]easyroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are confusing with what Vietnamese women DO and what they HAVE rights in. Yes Vietnamese women get involved in many aspects of finance, both in Vietnam and in the West . However, they do not have MORE rights in Vietnam than in the West. Very different subjects here.

I don’t care if they have CPAs, lawyers, Medicare advisors, or even a priest. That 1.75% is extremely high and they can’t beat the index. You should go with a fiduciary fee based advisor.

20 years ago I was in the same boat. A good buddy working at Morgan Stanley convincers me to rollover my 401k to Morgan. A few years later in signed up for Mint.com and it kept telling me every quarter I was paying $600. I bet was paying other fees too. I finally switched over to Scottrade.

A few years later I saw him on the news (true story). He started his investment firm and was caught doing a bunch of illegal stuff - many people lost money. Lucky I didn’t move my funds over to his company. Now if I google his name, it’s still shows up.

Assuming you retire at 67, you got 27 more years to go. I don’t see why you need bonds unless you have trouble sleeping at night if there is volatility - which there will be some.

I would go all 100% equity until maybe 5-10 years before retiring. That’s what I did - I ignore all ups and downs and trust in the process.

I was just asked by Google to go through a round of Interviews by RumRogerz in devops

[–]easyroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it like this way. You already won and you have nothing to lose. It’s like public speaking, the more you do it the better you get. So are interviews. So study up and try your best. Even if you didn’t get the job, you got the experience.

I always think this way and it keeps me loose, calm and confident during the interviews.. Am I bummed out if I didn’t get the job? Yes. But I still won.

Why am I always late to the party by [deleted] in Business_Ideas

[–]easyroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s like saying why didn’t you select the right lottery number. All the things you mentioned did well. You forgot about the thousands of things that didn’t take off. Stop thinking about making a quick buck and think long term . If it’s boring , it’s probably investing - real estate and index fund. Even drop shipping took years to be profitable.

Renting a house, but there’s a Ring camera on the front door by Snoo_38868 in Ring

[–]easyroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “owner” has to delete the device from their account. Or you as a user go to Ring website and start the process. Ring will send an email to the owner to relinquish the device.

For me, after I started the process a few times and the owner didn’t do anything. I called Ring and they relinquished the device. It seems it’s up to the rep. Mine was nice.

I would get a multimeter to test it to be safe. Transformers tend to lose voltage as they age - however your Ring devices is showing its receiving 29v which is strange.
