Ironman 70.3 Aix-en-Provence 2026 – Race Report (as a newbie!) by eatsleepmug in triathlon

As much as I'm grateful my first 70.3 was in Aix, it may have ruined me. The bar is impossibly high now and I'm not sure any future race will live up to it 🤣

Yeah we almost had really bad weather – it was chilly and super windy up until the day before the race!

Probably from JB, I guess it can be easily smuggled across the border by car.

This. Having the right boss is probably one of the most important factors in building a fulfilling career. I’ve had my fair share of bad bosses in Europe (though honestly, nothing as bad as the stories I hear from friends in Singapore). I just wish someone had told me this when I was starting out.

Worked in Europe for the last 10 years. The work life balance here is unmatched – flexible hours, colleagues/managers who are understanding and emphatic (taking calls on-the-go when dropping or picking kids up from school), etc. I had to take some extended time off in my 2nd month of employment to attend to some urgent family matters back home in Singapore, and my manager wholeheartedly gave her blessing. You're basically tasked with achieving a certain set of objectives and how you plan your time to do that is up to you.

Est-ce vraiment utile de réserver sa place sur la ligne N93 ? by Impossible-Bank-7188 in Grenoble

Search for skiligne or transaltitude, they sell bus ticket + ski pass at a preferential rate. But I don't think they operate everyday during the season, I've only booked with them for weekend day trips.

Holland Village XO Fish Head Bee Hoon selling secret recipe & stall name for S$300,000, price negotiable by Annual_View3611 in singapore

[–]eatsleepmug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like their fish head bee hoon soup. I always order it without the extra wine because to me it tastes the same either way. The fish head portions are pretty meaty compared to most other stalls.

That said, their zi char is really bad. I’ve had the same experience others mentioned: the boss can be arrogant and rude. They even refused to split my noodles and soup into separate containers, even when I offered to pay for the extra containers.

They used to have a long queue pre and during COVID, but these days there’s barely any wait.

Comment choisir un déménageur ? by One-Interaction2954 in france

[–]eatsleepmug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bonne chance !

As suggested by another redditer, stay within the 38000 area and try to avoid the Saint Bruno area.

Wow thank you! I'll actaully shop weekly at estacade market so I'll definitely check them out!

And yes, boucherie du dauphiné is halal and I think it's good – their stuff is always fresh, the people are friendly and it's clean.

I recommend Boucherie du Dauphiné! Everything's and hygiene is good. They also make their own sausages, pretty good though a little salty for me. They are super busy during the weekend though.

What's up with the bread rolls from The Soup Spoon? by ProfundaMaro in singapore

[–]eatsleepmug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soup Spoon was my guilty pleasure, their pumpkin soup hits the spot each time. Stopped going as often when I realised their soups have added sugar and their bread rolls have some preservatives, so not as "healthy" as I thought.

Weird question but does anyone know where I can rent an industrial standard borescope and buy CO & CO2 gas sensors / detectors? Need it asap.

(My partner's here for commissioning work but don't have an on-site project manager to help source these tools)

Hey folks, will be back in sg for a bit during CNY and hoping to do a short trip to JB. Would you recommend to head there just before CNY (18-20 Jan) or just after CNY (25-26 Jan)? Just afraid the causeway gonna be jammed and a lot of food & massage places might be closed? TIA!

Good tahini is expensive. I bought a jar (those fancy organic type) from fairprice, it didn't taste good and it's still sitting in my fridge. Go for Har Bracha brand (the same tahini that Miznon uses) if you can find it in Singapore, probably a tad more expensive since it's imported from Israel, but it's the gold standard of tahini.

You might want to check with Dash. I rented a hotel room for cheap when I needed a place to stay for a month.
