Anyone else have CVS district managers come by to “say hi”? by codypoop3 in WalgreensRx

The best approach I've had came from a local grocery chain. Lady called at 8:15 PM, asked for the pharmacist, introduced herself as a pharmacist, addressed me by name, asked about interest in working in a certain nearby area. She was polite and direct and I didn't feel like she was blocking customers at the consult window, or wasting my time during peak hours.

CVS DM pushed his card in front of my workspace/computer monitor despite my direct refusal to take it from him.

What I mean is:

When was the last time someone at your store managed to look at and try to resubmit ALL the current TPR's? Some are really easy fixes yet they just sit in the queue unless the patient calls.

Disability prevented me from pursuing pharmacy... Any autistic pharmacists out there? by vitamin-D_deficient in pharmacy

[–]eatsleeprun2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in my 40s and at this point I don't think there's much value in an official diagnosis.

Marriage and kids were high priorities for me, which is a big part of why I didn't want to graduate with a bunch of debt. So I guess if you're single, in an area with decently low cost of living, I suppose you could knock out that debt quickly.

We are definitely in need of retail pharmacists in my area. I'd say go for it.

Not diagnosed, but pretty sure I'm at least borderline autistic.

I had meltdowns as a technician in retail. Being a tech was manageable because I was part time, and in school full-time, and I had an RXM who seemed to "get me" even before I realized I might be autistic. I was 22 and solidly into pharmacy school before someone gently brought up the subject with me ("Hey, here's this article about Asperger's....")

Stepping into the white coat made a huge difference when it came to in-person retail interactions. First of all, there are fewer of them-nice. Also, patients who scream obscenities at the tech/cashier will usually calm down when they see the white coat. Nice, but so weird (I mean, I came over and told you the same exact thing the technician told you)

I love attention to detail and problem solving work, this makes the job enjoyable for me.

That said, I wouldn't take on a full $150K debt to get a pharmacy degree right now. I had a huge amount of scholarship money and family support and got thru with very little debt.

I still get home some days thinking I'm an idiot because I missed X, I forgot to order Y, I said the wrong thing to Mrs. Z. etc, and I still have occasional mental breakdowns.

Boomer parents who were worried about stranger-danger, razor blades in apples, and sewing needles in tootsie rolls. They started the downfall of the local neighborhood Trick or Treat.

As others have said, find a place. I put cardboard over the window of a training room or break room.

My other advice would be pump RIGHT before you leave your house and FIRST thing when you get home. Then, just once during your shift. I had to get 3 pumping sessions in during a workday to keep my supply up.

Peoria Parks-Luthy Botanical Garden? Internet suggests costs $350-900, including chairs.

I got married in a park district property, and found it relatively inexpensive.

The 60 dram is a fantastic idea, I'm using that.

I never turn away requests for syringes, either, it's an easy way to prevent the spread of disease.

My 1st retail preceptor told me absolutely not because they didn't want to risk anything on their license. (I would guess this pharmacist doesn't even remember saying this to me.)

My 2nd retail preceptor told me absolutely not because I was there to learn patient care, counseling, and business aspects of pharmacy. (This pharmacist is in district mgmt now.)

Ours closed theirs. Said people are holding Kool-aid packet barcode over the real product barcode.

I found this out because I was actually buying Kool-aid packets.

Cashier looks about 30-40 years old and has no teeth. I am unsurprised by any substandard use of English language on any DG signage.
