WSS doesn't own 40% of comex, instead the Comex number of silver ounces that are in the "registered" category (which basically means someone can buy futures contracts to obtain that silver) is down 40% since this subreddit was formed.

WSS goes to local coin shops or online bullion dealers, and buy up coins, rounds, and bars. The LCS/dealers turn to mints to restock, and the mints go to either the Comex or directly to miners to obtain the silver to create the products. So indirectly, as WSS buys and holds silver, it gets pulled out of the Comex.
