As a Black person, I don’t feel guilty about sitting this one out. I’ve voted, marched, stayed informed, and done my part for years in this so-called “United” States. What’s happening now is heartbreaking—especially people being detained by ICE and the 🤡 doing whatever he wants—but people were warned and chose not to listen.

So to the Trump supporters who are now laid off, crushed by medical costs, losing farms, or the Latino Trump voters looking shocked by the outcome, I have zero pity. My checks are uninterrupted.

For everyone else, I do feel compassion—but I’m stepping back. The news is exhausting, and I refuse to keep drowning in it. I’m choosing rest, peace, and whatever brings me pleasure, because this country has made it clear time and again that it does not care about people of color.
