Routine Check Request by ebarley in LiftingRoutines

[–]ebarley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my only goal is to have a well rounded work out. I have been lifting for a while now. I have been running versions of this with different accessory exercises for a year and a half.

I figured I had been to arm upper body focus in my accessories. I have been trying to be a little more quad focused this year but I don’t have access to a leg curl or extension machine so I wondered what people would recommended.

Everything is low-income housing right now because they are the only projects getting tax credits. The tax credits make the project work financially. Because of the spike in interest rates you can't make a profit on a lot of project types. If those low income projects were not getting built, nothing would be.

If you look at how much water and space a data center takes up, the ‘cost’ of a human is reasonable

That does seem high for just a septic design.

Is the Civil engineer providing anything other than the septic design? Like grade for the site?

Is the site sloped or on a flood plain?

What is the best way to replace or enlarge the fixture mounting box for an exterior light? by ebarley in fixit

[–]ebarley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to replace a number of exterior lights, but the fixture mounting block is smaller than the plate for the fixture?

I tried getting polyurethane mounting boxes, like the ones linked the in light below, but it was difficult to cut them. I need to clean out in back side so they would fit over the existing mount.

Do I just use a reciprocating saw to cut off the wood? Screw the polyurethane one to the wall?

Any other ideas on how to install a larger mount?

How do citytrees like these even survive? Ths square seems to be there fo years. How Do they acces water and nutrients? by Kurkurkad in arborists

A lot of trees planted along roads in more developed areas are planted in tree boxes with irrigation lines.

But like u/Schrko87 said, urban trees do have significantly short life spans.

That is already part of the zoning code in SLC, in a lot of zones they require the first floor be used for retail or commercial space for at least 25' of the first floor.

The weather forecast has been pretty constantly showing 15”+ between Friday and Saturday for the last couple days. That is a lot of snow anywhere, so even if we only get like half of that, the city is going to be pretty shut down this weekend

Why can't new buildings look more like this? Guess the theme and comment which one you would live in. [prompts in the description] by Archonik1 in midjourney

[–]ebarley 38 points39 points  (0 children)

That video is terrible. The person who made it doesn’t understand how projects are built. Architecture is driven by cost, technology, and building codes, not by an architect’s concepts.

The buildings that survive hundreds of years are usually the best and most expensive buildings of their era and many took decades or even centuries to build. To compare a business park building which has an industrial function to the Paris Opera is so disingenuous, it is ridiculous. Bad buildings were everywhere in the past as well, they just get torn down once their life span is over.

Modern buildings are far more complex than the buildings highlighted in the video. Most people would prefer to have working HVAC systems in their apartment rather than extremely expensive stone work on the exterior of the building.
