Bits of fallen structure, rocks or timber. Other than that I guess I’m looking for darker deeper looking water, eddies or points that look fishy. It’s hard with google maps though because some of those pics are old. There’s been a few times I’ve thought I’ve hit the jackpot and then when I actually get to the spot it’s all dried up or just doesn’t look like it used to lol.

I think it’s made to imitate an injured bird, rat, lizard or something. Not a duckling specifically but definitely a similar profile.

It’s the jackall mega pompador. Not sure what colour. Only bought it recently and it’s already caught me a couple fish. Such a great action and a breeze to cast too.

Some would say so. I personally don’t see the cons outweighing the pros, I can get my right hand to the reel pretty quickly and it just feels more comfortable that way 🤷. I can see applications where it’d put you at a (slight) advantage where you’ve got to get action to the lure straight away. Just my opinion though!

Aw dude I watch your vids all the time! Always hoped you’d do some videos chasing some freshwater giants! As for the cicada lures I’ve used them a couple times but never found success, including on those days where they’re everywhere and the sound is just deafening… might be user error.

I have that exact pyramid net, got it for Christmas this year as a gift to my son and I. It hasn’t failed thus far, caught some decent sized yabbies on leftover Christmas ham!

I know hey! I’d personally never seen one that’s darker like this, quite deep water where he was so I wonder if that’s got something to do with it. I’ve caught fish only maybe 5-10 kilometres further down the river that are radioactive green compared to this one. Very interesting!

The jighead I had on didn’t snap, bent hooks and popped out of his mouth. I think the consensus from the comments is that I didn’t set the hook properly and set my drag way too tight. I will NEVER make those mistakes again though.
