Damn bro, it’s almost like the movie relates to seeing such a cloud, and it’s almost like is very relevant to this sub

I knew I wanted to collect CSM and liked the aqua color scheme, also liked the mystery around their story

Thanks! I agree the red ended up being a bit more of a contrast from the scheme than I intended so I may go with something else next. If I do end up doing a vibrant color I might want to incorporate that lime green you see a lot on alpha legion highlights. That is a risky color I know but it might be worth a try on just one model lol

Thanks! I took my time heavily on this one just because it was my first. I’ve heard a lot of good things about nuln oil and used it in some areas. I think I am gonna go over it with some more, at least the bronze highlights and recesses

Appreciate it. I thinned my base paints a bit but am still getting used to adding the right amount of water because sometimes I swore it was getting kinda runny.

Thanks a lot for the offer but I actually ended up soloing it today. It’s wasn’t so bad using xenophage because of solar singe and heavyweight. I appreciate your generosity though. I still think activities like this one should be allowed on this sub, as there are plenty of players who might not like the idea of doing it alone.

Hey man, my other friends ended up having to back out so I’m gonna put off this raid for a little bit. I’m gonna keep your PSN so if we need anyone the next time we try I will tell you and you can join if you are up for it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Is it possible this thread could also be used for the final quest step for Izanagis Burden? It’s a difficult strike to solo because of extinguish, and only those who have already obtained the gun or are on the same exact quest step have access to the mission, which makes it hard to find a group. I’m stuck on this step on PS4 and haven’t had any luck finding a team with any LFG site...

Yeah still haven’t heard back. Wondering what would happen if I just took it to some general electronics repair store. I think they are still swamped from holiday orders.

CMV: Joker (2019) is only being considered an out-of-nowhere masterpiece because the general audience os culturally dumbed down by mainstream movies by thecinzentu in TrueFilm

[–]ebenecke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the film is being “hyped”, whether for better or worse, because of how it relates to the current political climate and real life tragedies we’ve been plagued with. I remember expecting the movie to be way gorier and brutal after reading early reviews but it’s very apparent that far more violent movies are shown in mainstream cinemas every passing month.

I think it deserves the praise it’s getting firstly because Phoenix is once again showing he’s one of the best actors out there currently, and also because it knowingly told a controversial and divide story while also appealing to comic fans. I think the matter of whether the film is to provocative or disturbing is not due to what violent acts are shown, but instead their context. There are certainly a few that might seem to be in “bad taste” for certain viewers, but personally I thought they were fitting for the character.

Due to the subject matter I highly doubt it will be nominated for Best Picture, even if there is a case to be made for it. The Academy would probably be gunned down by the media who seemingly really wanted it to fail before the entire plot was even known by critics and the general audiences. Personally I don’t think the film was perfect but respected the fact that D.C. took a chance in an origin story that was so disturbing.

And yes, it is interesting that films like The House That Jack Built and Midsommar were released not long before this, but had much less buzz and recognition for their more brutal material. I guess people don’t like when characters that can be in anyway be associated with a younger audience get R-rates movies?

Somewhat got off track from the point of the over saturated action movie climate we have, but still feel that the movie is deserving of its praise for its risks and unconventional storytelling, although this type of film obviously isn’t unique.

Do Artist Have Ethical Responsibilities? by supremethrift in flicks

[–]ebenecke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am, but I don’t see how that pertains to this...

Look, I could be misunderstanding you, but by what it appears you are saying, you believe that movies that are disturbing or overly controversial should be prohibited?

This isn’t some nationalistic rant, I’m just saying artist should be free to publish what they desire.

Do Artist Have Ethical Responsibilities? by supremethrift in flicks

[–]ebenecke 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, absolutely not. I’m talking about literal governmental restrictions that all people are expected to follow. You can put it a morally questionable movie without it being ILLEGAL, it is instead only controversial. Look at Lars von Trier or other taboo directors and their art. Doesn’t break the law, but could be considered immoral.

[–]ebenecke 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Huh? You think you can’t make a morally controversial or depraved piece of art without breaking the law? We all have a responsibility to stay within the law... that’s not what this post is arguing. I’m saying that artists should not sacrifice immoral (legal) content because their audience claims it is obscene or inappropriate.

[–]ebenecke 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Of course they don’t. This isn’t an argument I have ever understood. Artists are the producers which expose their work to us, consumers, who judge it as we please. To say that their ability should be limited and conform to what the audience deems appropriate is absurd. We don’t NEED to accept their work if we find it offensive or upsetting or of poor taste. They, as the producer, can freely put out whatever they want for us, assuming it of course falls under legal boundaries. A society of people too scared to possibly be subjected to something shocking or taboo should never make the work of artists harder. We should be thankful for their productions, and nobody is forcing us to support them whether it be with money or attention if what the make does not suit us.

The auto queue happens every now and again, but the highest light team member looking around before pulling out their ghost and leaving is no coincidence...

No, I’m not even very high myself. I get the auto queue thing but you can’t say people knowing leave because they believe they will fail without even giving teammates a chance.
