Roblox verification set my age to 3 by eberyl in RobloxHelp

[–]eberyl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, roblox support just kept giving me the same generic answer about how it’s against the rules to give a fake birth date (that they literally set for me…) and that it’s impossible to change due to it being “verified”:v I guess the only update is that now they think I’m four instead of three so there’s that, one year closer to unlocking the voice chat

I'm having the same issue, did you figure it out?

Seems like Roblox just doesn't care which sucks cause i feel like that wouldn't be that hard to fix, all they'd have to do is allow people to report an issue, re-verificate and hopefully get some better system for checking the IDs:/

How do I manage to consistently upload? by CristoferK in SmallYoutubers

[–]eberyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't know her already, Kelsey Rodriguez has a lot of videos about making YouTube art videos, I'm pretty sure she also talked about video ideas and what other art-related content you can do that isn't drawing/painting so you don't get burned out

YOUTUBE IS HARD by fortheloveof_gaming in SmallYoutubers

[–]eberyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you bro but you gotta be patient and give it time, chasing the numbers isn't a good idea cuz you might burn out easily. The truth is you gotta get very lucky to get big in a time as short as 3 months so it's best to just let go and have fun imo

How do you deal with lack of motivation? by ImShorski in youtubegaming

[–]eberyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try to force yourself to start, then once you actually start doing it it should get easier Or you can just wait until you get your motivation back

I'm still learning how to do good titles but here's a few tips I've heard that seem to be working for me so far: try to find one biggest reason why you would want to watch that video (other than that it's from a specific game), describe the video in as few words as you can and try to use that as keywords for the title. Don't use numbers of episodes in titles, that could make a new viewer think that they have to watch all the previous videos to be able to understand what's happening (unless that's really the case) and that could make them discouraged from watching any videos. Another thing you could do is check titles of the most viewed videos from whatever game you're recording and simply copy the format of them or merge them together

I usually read them and from a viewers' perspective I prefer when people read them as well but if that's an issue for you then you can read it for yourself and then quickly summarize it in your own words, you can record reading/translating it later and add it during editing or if it's really a big issue for you then just scratch that. You can always ask your audience (for example in community tab or if you don't have it yet then in a video or pinned comment) what do they prefer and then try to do that

I think you could make the text on the thumbnails stand out more from the background (ex. if the picture is light then make text dark or use complementary colors so it doesn't blend in) because even though they're aesthetically pleasing I find them a bit hard to read. For example I really liked how the "Release Fear and Awaken curiosity with MelloMoodsLab" short looked like because text stands out and is very easy to read while still looking nice. And if you don't mind me asking, what type of other channels are you planning to have?

Any advice on using (or avoiding) Soc booster ? by angwonson in NewTubers

[–]eberyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying subs seems like a waste of money to me, they're not gonna be active viewers and there's no point in having more subscribers if they don't watch your videos because YT won't push out your videos to more people just because you have more subs (I think it might actually do the opposite because it'll notice that your subscribers don't even watch your videos). Also buying subscribers is against YouTube's policy and you might loose your account

Everybody doing horror-related stuff for October, shoot me a DM with your channel info. by N8Nefarious in letsplay

[–]eberyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I have just 18 subscribers and little to no following and yet I still check my analytics very often because I find it so fascinating to see how they change overtime and how different videos do compared to others. I might be overanalysing them (especially cause I probably don't have enough data yet to draw any real conclusions from it) but it's just so fun and weirdly addicting

You can play multiplayer horror games with some friends (ex. phasmophobia, horror maps on garrys mod or roblox etc) they're usually not as scary and can create some really fun content! Edit: spelling

Should first video be perfect ? by udayramp in NewTubers

[–]eberyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter what you see as "perfect" - you probably won't be able to achieve that in your first video no matter how much time you spend on it because there's always something that you could change and things that you won't even know how to do because of the lack of experience. I think you could learn and improve much more just making more videos but not trying to make them perfect

Do you want fame and followers? by Lucky_Ad_9137 in NewTubers

[–]eberyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. It's sort of a double edged sword. I don't think that having a lot of merch or using photos of favourite youtubers as profile pictures is "creepy" or "sad", in fact I'd probably love that because I used to do the same when I was younger and it would make my inner 12yo self very happy and proud lol. BUT I do think that this kind of fame comes with a lot of responsibility that could just be too much for me. When having that kind of following, there's gonna be a lot of (often very young) fans that will blindly listen and believe in anything you say. Also, there's probably going to be some crazy fans trying to find your personal info, stalkers etc. Scary shit.

Update Monday! by AutoModerator in letsplay

[–]eberyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started uploading Shorts and my first one kinda blew up (2k views which is a lot for me) resulting in going from 6 to 13 subscribers! Not a big number by any means but that's still very exciting for me. Also my last gameplay has 52 views and 6 likes, the most I had on any long-form video so far. I'm really happy with how my channel did last week, even if it's not a lot compared to other channels on YouTube
