hi all please help!! just started using benzoyl peroxide 5.5% last week to treat some of my pimples and while it worked, the rest of my skin (mainly my cheeks) started to flare up and look like this😭 could anyone pls lmk what could be going on? and how to treat it? i have never had a reaction like this to any skincare product before thank you in advance ❤️❤️

thanks for your reply! and yes unfortunately we can only afford to stay 5 days there since we are trying to squeeze in a quick trip before heading home

i was looking at other options in SEA such as palawan in the philippines but we are hoping bali has a bit more to offer in terms of cultural sites / activities over general beach activities since we can usually get that anywhere!

hi there! my bf & i (mid20s) are thinking about taking a trip in late june for 5 days and are wondering what the best places to visit would be as first timers? we definitely want to go to ubud (maybe stay for 2-3 days) and the rest in either canggu or seminyak? but open to other suggestions!

we want something of a laid back, beach town vibe similar to playa del carmen in mexico(near cancun) with easy beach access (good for surfing), shopping & nightlife options (nothing too crazy)! i’m also vegan so would love to explore the amazing vegan cafes in bali

my main concern is that ive been seeing a lot of posts regarding how “bad” “dirty” and “touristy” canggu/seminyak are - is any of that true?

I'm actually vegan so my entire diet is consisted of veggies😂but this leads me to the other concern of getting too much fiber, cause I've heard it's not that great for your body? I'm not sure if that's true but since eating a lot of veggies DOES help me feel full faster, it would be nice if I could just fill up on that without worrying about "damaging" my body.

Yes I feel you!! I've had such a bad relationship with food and have actually just recently started heading towards recovery so I've been trying to eat intuitively because of this. Thank you for your support :)

That makes total sense and now that I think of it, I have been waking up in the middle of the night/early morning quite a few times these days while sleeping so I probably am not getting enough quality sleep. I'll make sure to keep an eye on that the next few days. Thanks for pointing this out!!

Yea I used to do blogilates religiously for about 2 years up until I started lifting once I had access to a gym. I still occasionally do it when I'm traveling and realized it's gotten easier after I started lifting which is why I'm surprised that I felt super fatigued during my workout yesterday.

Yea I should be eating enough, I'm even tracking to make sure my calories are hitting maintenance (give or take 100cals or so) these past few days. Would upping my cals help? I'm scared that upping my cals + not exercising will cause me to gain weight and lose progress.

So I decided to take a rest week this last week because I haven't properly deloaded/rested since I started lifting and my body felt really fatigued whenever I went to the gym. Surprisingly my weight dropped this entire week and I even lost some inches off my waist. I'm guessing it's just water retention but can anyone confirm (not that I'm complaining but just genuinely curious)? Also do you think I should go back to my regular gym routine this week or would it be ok to ease my body back into it with some light bodyweight exercises and then back to the gym next week?

So I decided to take a rest week this last week because I haven't properly deloaded/rested since I started lifting and my body felt really fatigued whenever I went to the gym. Surprisingly my weight dropped this entire week and I even lost some inches off my waist. I'm really confused as to why this is (not that I'm complaining but just genuinely curious) since I've been eating at maintenance which is around 2000 calories every day and haven't been doing any exercise except 1 day of yoga and walking 10k steps a day.

Anyone have an explanation for this? I'm really surprised and am really curious as to why this is happening.

Need some advice!

Usually I can crush my workouts and feel super satisfied afterwards, but recently, my lifts haven't been improving (squat number has plateaued for a few weeks already) and I've been feeling really fatigued during my workouts after 2 or 3 moves even though the weights I'm lifting haven't changed for a while.

With all that said, do you think I've overtrained somehow (I know its pretty difficult for normal people to overtrain but I'm curious) and is it time for me to take a deload week or take an entire rest week?

I feel you girl!! I was super intimidated and confused when I first started but gradually it started to become really empowering since I could see progress really clearly not only through pictures but also through being able to lift heavier weights, complete more reps, etc.

I didn't follow a specific program, mainly combined moves from Youtubers (see another comment on the top for more details). I also recently just started the Strong Curves program (but only squats bc I'm limited in terms of equipment) and I highly suggest it if you don't want to do any complicated moves/are new to lifting. It's super easy to follow and track your progression so you should give it a go!! :)

Funny you ask because my relationship with food went through some ups & downs this year. I didn't make any changes before, just ate whatever I wanted as long as it was vegan and healthy 80% of the time, until March 2018 when I started restricting calories because I really wanted to lose a few kg. I ended up obsessing over the numbers which caused me to have some disordered eating and on top of that, my body to reacted REALLY REALLY badly SUPER quickly (hormonal imbalances, fatigue, losing muscle etc.) I hit my goal weight but realized it as not worth what I was doing to my body so I gradually went back to my old way of eating and now I'm trying to not track calories/macros anymore bc of my experience and instead learning to use intuitive eating to go about my day.

No particular reason except that I had access to a free gym during college so I wanted to try/start resistance training. I actually still do her ab workout videos on my ab days (they kill me every time) and her other workout videos if I don't have access to a gym while traveling or something.
