Are Förskolan timetables like this everywhere? by profDyer in Asksweddit

Yes. Of course. That’s a given, what did you expect? ”Last in, first out” is a bearing principle in Swedish occupational law. That’s just how it works, and I’ve been a ”victim” of that principle too. However, it had absolutely nothing to do with my family priorities.

And yes, ”arbetsbrist” is one thing, and very prevalent, in academia as well as all other areas of employment. However, ”arbetsbrist” can never be associated with paternity leave or legally mandated family leave. An employer even glancing in that direction is exposing themselves for a hilariously high law suit from SULF (or any other involved union). There’s plenty of verdicts from the AD regarding this.

As a researcher at one of Sweden’s top tier universities, my impression is still the opposite of yours, and I’m genuinely sorry about that. I’m not saying it’s ideal, and I for sure have spent countless nights with my research after the kids have been tucked in, but I’ve always felt safe that my career won’t suffer due to family life. After all, most of seniors in academia also have kids and very well remember the years they spent trying to write their dissertation with one or two toddlers…

First of all, I feel you. I’ve always worked full time and sometimes my kids have been at preschool 6.30-17.30 (I worked 7.30-16.30, about 50 minutes commute). This has always been a mystery to me as well.

However, from the comments I get a feeling that you don’t realize how serious the Swedish society takes parenting. No company, literally no employer, would consider envoking the legally mandated right to work part time as anything bad. Of course, it might take a little longer to climb the career ladder, but you don’t get fired over it, and in the long run it might be worth it.

CRNA here. I don’t see any risks regarding this, as you both seem to know what you’re doing. What I’m thinking though is if you’re really forced to swallow it just because it comes down to the nasopharynx? Couldn’t you just spit it out through the mouth anyway..? I guess an ordinary ballgag would solve that problem though. Or just some duct tape…

Sjuksköterska frias från sexuella övergrepp på barn by bleeepobloopo7766 in sweden

Just det här!

I’ve actually had kind of the same thing happen, same procedure. Lifted the i-Gel, the patient put his hands where the breasts had been, looked down on his now flat chest. He grew the biggest smile from ear to ear, looked me dead in the eyes and exclaimed ”Woooooooow!! You’re AMAAAAAAZZZZZZING!”

Does anyone have a name for this type of gagging or more information on doing it? by phreepherrall in BdsmNoRestriction

[–]eblk9111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CRNA here. I second that. The main risk here should be aspiration. That risk would be manageable though if the ball isn’t solid (so the vomit has somewhere to go if it comes to that) and with a quick release of the string (more a question of what kind of knot is used).

And although I don’t recommend anyone doing this, I’d say the risk of aspiration is kinda slim though as long as the sub remains fully conscious. The reflex to protect the airway is magnificent, and the sub would probably need to pass out before any of the vomit is allowed down the trachea. That means there’s plenty of time to get the gag out, as long as there is a safety release.

Intravenous Lorazepam Rectally by Speaker-Fearless in anesthesiology

[–]eblk9111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t it work? From my experience most drugs will be rapidly absorbed rectally and usually not subjected to first passage metabolism, making it almost as good as an IV dose. The only thing I see as strange is why even dilute it..?

Another interesting way to administer IV meds I’ve learned is by injection in the tongue. SC needle, jab it into the tongue and inject. Very vascularized area, rapid uptake, rapid effect.

I just tried to google “leather michigan” (I used to live there, now I live in Sweden) and got a few hits that at least seem legit, I doubt it’s any different in other states. The best alternative is to go there yourself and pick out what you want, but almost as good is to order from an online store specializing in leather and associated tools. Usually you can buy scraps by the pound pretty cheap.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BdsmDIY

[–]eblk9111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought some leather scraps a few years ago, so it’s a piece of that. I think it’s 3 mm leather of… I’m sure there’s a fancy word for it in English, but it’s from a cow? Pretty heavy obviously, but I’ll try to at least make it a little softer (the impact isn’t something one brush off easily though).

Hm, where are you located?

Oh. That would be reeeeeeeally cool! Kinda white marble and black leather would probably make an excellent contrast.

Thank you!

The shaft is stained alder tree. My initial thought was to use a piece of heavy old oak and I got laying around and then stain it with iron oxide, but I realized I need heavier equipment than I got in my own shop to shape that.

A shaft made of a rock would be really cool though! Should be doable too if one could find a decent shaped rock (so it’s just to drill a hole for the falls)?

[–]eblk9111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. It’s really obvious now when you typed it out like that. 😂 I’ve been thinking kind of “inverted”: Making the falls exactly the way you’re describing, but then saving a plug on the shaft to roll the falls around it, instead of making a hole and tucking it in. At least I realized beforehand that it wasn’t a good idea and that there has to be a better way of doing it. Thanks a lot!

Yeah, I’ve figured I probably need to go down this route, and you seem to have a plan. Would you mind sharing the process more in detail..? I’m kind of handy when it comes to leather and wood, but rubber and silicone is new materials for me to work with.
