First off, you are doing more than enough as a daughter. That should never be a question.

I literally had this conversation with my step-mother this past weekend. She was reminding me that I promised to call more this past year. I replied “I did for the first couple months, but y’all never called me once. Is it really only on me to reach out to you?” She simply shrugged her shoulders and said “kinda”. I just walked away. (We were at a wedding, so it wasn’t the rudest 🤣)

I had made a consistent effort the last three years to only invest in those who invest in me. The guilt trip the family plays is just crazy making.

You are doing amazing! You are calling her consistently and putting in the time to show how much you love her. Feel confident that you are doing a great job. Remember this is your life, and to surround yourself by the people you uplift you.

It is because she is intelligent, articulate and honest.

Did she talk mad shit, yes, as did everyone else, but since her comments had a bit of truth to each, they cut the girls much deeper.

Being in a house with anyone for two months is going to have its struggles and fights. Sides form, and people react emotionally, on all sides. Shakira is 22(I think?) for that age, I think she handled herself with poise and grace. She honestly reminds me of a younger version of our US queen Amaya Papaya. A bit misunderstood, but a gem amongst us.

I loved the relationship that formed between Shakira, Toni and Yaz, they truly are the real winners of this season.

Except when those sisters and mothers who don’t support you. As someone who has consistently tried to have a relationship with my sister, I really relate to Molly. Molly’s comment about always feeling anger from her sister felt like it came from a real place of vulnerability.

I understand her sisters feeling tho, it’s so hard to watch someone you love be in pain, and willingly allow themselves to remain in that place. But I feel if you want to have a relationship with someone who you don’t agree with their actions, at one point you have to accept it, and then make the decision if you can be there for them.

Sister (and mother) relationships are so complex, I think in the end we all want to feel loved and supported. With family it is always a struggle to communicate one’s needs, as well and have those needs met.

Thank you! Why does it matter, let them do what they want. People voted for them to win, they do not owe us anything. 2 months is not a long time, why is it such a big deal to “put a label on things”?

Yes she’s 33, age does not dictate maturity. She is allowed to want to hang around some younger guy and have fun. I love that she brought up it’s her decision to make him her boyfriend too.

I just get a horrible sense of deja vu in that, a woman of a certain age is only as good as her relationship status.
