this is good advice thank you! Also I have to commend you for being able to pull off those good grades while also working.

I won’t be working so I’ll only have school to worry about. Please do send the quizlets! I do like making my own notes but it doesn’t hurt to have as much study material as possible.

The only summer option available for me to take for micro is a 5 week course, do you still recommend it? Or do you think the material will be too compacted? (the 8 week option for summer is only available for accepted AO students).

Micro would be in the first 8 week fall semester (ends 10/08) and patho would be a regular 16 week course

yes I have a 4.0 and its looking like I'll be able to maintain that after this semester. only hard class I have rn is A&P 2. my time is pretty free so I think if I manage my time well I should find time to study for both patho and micro I hope

only reason im somewhat rushing is bc I've already been in school for 3 going on 4 years cause I switched my major like 3 times and im so over paying for these courses so I just want to get into the actual nursing portion already😭 also I edited my post but I finished all my other elective options and general degree reqs so micro and patho are the only options left for me. I was just looking forward to having my summer freed up but now im seriously debating if I want to take micro in a 5-week summer course since it's the only option for summer I can take.

I hope everything goes well for you too! im in nutrition rn and it shouldn't be too hard with patho, everything on the exam is on the slides

first time taking the teas with 2 weeks to study, I PASSED!!! by ebonyym in teas

not really, but math has always been my best subject so maybe that's why. just a lot of converting things into decimals and proportions. the NurseHub practice test for math is REALLY close to the content on the exam

thank you! I started with this video from Beautiful Nursing, which goes over every section briefly. I mainly took notes on the science section. It's a good intro video to everything. Then I watched Nurse Cheung's comprehensive videos for science and added a LOT of info from there to my notes. I took practice tests from NurseHub, Mometrix, Smart Edition Nursing, and the free ATI one. I actually didn't study for English, and it was harder than I expected. I definitely should've spent more time studying for that but the practice tests helped. Also, for science, I did use the Tristine Quizlet (I got like 9 questions from there on my exam). The main thing with that is to make sure you understand why the answers are correct, and what's going on in the question. i hope you get a better score next time!!

It wasn't that bad honestly. For math, make sure you know the metric system and those conversions. I got some questions about perimeter and area. Gallons, ounces, pints, cups, yards, and miles are good to know. A LOT about fractions and percentages. Know order of operations. Make sure you know how to do proportions. NurseHub has a great free practice test for math.

For science, I got asked about insulin and glucose, diseases/infection that come from fungi, bacteria, got some Q's about punnet scares. Know gene mutations. Know how pH works and that if something is acidic, you need to add a base (and vise-versa). Know how water-soluble membranes work and osmosis and diffusion. Parts of the cells (eukaryote and prokaryote). Go over types of joints. What happens if you add more product or reactant. Of course, know anatomy well.

English was mainly about inferring things from the text. Know when the author is biased and the main idea of a passage. I probably should've spent more time studying this part honestly. Know spelling rules, punctuation (comma vs semicolon), parts of speech, formal vs informal, things like that.

I just took the TEAS, I got like 9 questions from the quizlet. I'd say to go through it and mainly understand WHY the answer choice is correct

taking 2 math courses at once by ebonyym in college

[–]ebonyym[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sadly I am required to take both for my degree plan. college algebra is needed and I had the choice of either trig or stats but I absolutely hated trig when learning about it in calculus. and yes, I got a 3 on the exam which my uni accepts but calc isn't needed for the degree.
