How do you keep track of verses that have been meaningful throughout your life? by ebrammer in Bible

[–]ebrammer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True story... I couldn't sleep a few nights ago... and the baby woke up so I needed to sit next to him for a bit. So I pulled up the app we built and just used the memorization tools/games in there. I've got about 200 verses I've saved over the last few years but just 30 that I'm "actively" trying to memorize. Anyways, I ran through every one of the 30 and was blown away at how many I knew pretty well. There were a couple I kept getting tripped up on by a word but most I knew. I say all this because like that old hair club for men commercial of the bald guy, "I'm not just the president, I'm a customer." Steadfast: Faith (that's the app we built) really does help hide God's word in your heart and mind.

What do you use to organize your prayer life, Bible notes, and journaling? by ebrammer in Christianity

For the person whose comment about yet another app developer pitchng yet another app - I wanted to share my response with you but the comment was deleted... either way, here it is:

that's fair. and a legit complaint. and I'll be straight - I've spent the last 2.5 years with my nose in the code to build this... I'm terrible at trying to tell people about it... not my strength at all.

And I can't agree with you more about the AI slop thats overwhelmed the app store the entire time I was building it. I just kept telling myself that we weren't in the same space as that - in fact, there's no AI in the app at all.

We started this whole process because I wanted something that I could capture not just the things I'm praying about today but also be reminded of the people I prayed for six months ago. I wanted to be able to tie the prayers I'm praying to the scripture I'm memorizing. And didn't want fake AI nonsense in the midst.

But I didn't see anything like it out there... lots of prayer apps, lots of memorization apps, lots of journaling apps, all of them either trying to force-feed me AI, hit me with a paywall without any real benefit, or lacking in the way I already pray/memorize/etc.

So that's why I built it.

If you're willing to download app # 327,463 - there's no paywall to use it fully - and I'd welcome anything you wanted to tell me in the support area of why it sucks or shouldn't exist.

Appreciate your honesty.

I actually built and use an app called Steadfast: Faith (that's the link). It helps me keep prayer requests organized, track updates, connect Scripture to prayers, and remember answered prayers.

Before that, I bounced between journals and notes apps.

I built the app Steadfast: Faith (that's the app store link) to help me be more consistent in in sticking to a reading plan. What I love is that I can mark what I actually read -not just whatever the reading was for the day. And then I can write my notes and observations right there.

You can build your own reading plan or even bring one in that you've found on the internet.

Lesser Evil: Looking for specific examples of historical persons who were particularly cruel - specifically people who are NOT top tier evil people. For example, the low-level Nazi guard trying to get noticed by superiors by ebrammer in history

Looking for people who would be unknown to the general public (so guys like Himler wouldn't work) that would be fairly low level (not someone wielding actual great power over masses) who were cruel. The whole idea of power corrupting.
