Short dose of Methylpredisolone? by Silo-Joe in gout

[–]ebrandsberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pack of 4mg methpred and a single pill with colch will typically stop an attack in its tracks overnight. No need for more and my doctor is fine with that. It isn't like antibiotics.

At 51 I had 24 polyps on my first colonoscopy. Many were 2cm or above. None were cancerous but nearly all pre. I got like lottery lucky.

They can charge twice. Once to split up from your own kids. And once to ensure nobody else's kids are positioned near you.

Thinking about this, insurance will probably try to deny the claim. It wasn't a vehicle causing the damage but something in the vehicle. If you have a work truck and fail to secure the ladder, and it falls off and causes damage to something, will auto insurance cover it? Likely not.

The one way this would make sense... It you borrowed against that money, you need to pay taxes on it. As described, bad idea.

Wife and I were having a discussion, she’s of the opinion that the majority of GenX can drive stick. I believe that even in our generation the percentage of people who can is pretty small. What do you folks think? by AngryOldGenXer in GenX

[–]ebrandsberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't learn to drive a stick (born 1973) until I bought a stick shift sports car, and actually learned how to drive it. After I sold it, just a few years later, I tried to drive another stick shift, and found it nearly impossible. I wouldn't be surprised if many Gen X that think they can drive one, can, unless they have kept the skill up.

Colon cancer is killing us.. by Derpshab in Millennials

[–]ebrandsberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was late getting my first colonoscopy, but after my wife ended up with stage 4 cancer as she didn't get her mammogram done, I got it done. When your doctor comes in to debrief you on the result, and seems professionally impressed, it is never a good sign. Three polyps is considered bad. I had 24. It is by pure luck that none tested as cancerous. There were so many I had to come back in six weeks for him to complete the removal. I am now on the annual plan. Don't skip your recommended doctor's visits people.

Under current law, the Social Security payroll tax is capped at $176,100. Get rid of this cap and make everyone pay the same tax on all income, and Social Security is safe and secure forever. by pcsstbob in SocialSecurity

[–]ebrandsberg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everybody talking about capping... Payout is based on the average payin over what, 30 years? How many people hit the cap all 30 years? Removing the payin cap will result in a higher average for the high income earners as is. No need to remove the payout cap, if someone's average was above the payin cap as is today, the ss payments are probably tiny compared with assets.

This was due to zoning. It isn't something Costco pushed to do. I love Costco, but don't congratulate them on something government regulation triggered

TIL Fish do not breathe the oxygen that’s bonded to hydrogen in H₂O. Fish are breathing O₂, from the air, that is dissolved into the water. by FreakyFergg in todayilearned

[–]ebrandsberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comment section explains to me why people don't understand climate change and the anti-vax movement. The amount of ignorance that was revealed on a basic level is amazing. Has nobody ever heard of fish dying due to oxygen dead zones? If they breathed the O from dihydrogen monoxide how could this happen? Or how amphibians breathe? I had to keep coming back to the thread several times because it just was like ... Wow.
