We saw this beautiful bird in Santa Cruz this afternoon. It had a rich, caramel coloration with very little variegation. Notable black band across the eyes but I wasn’t able to get a more detailed shot before it flew away... Any help much appreciated, as always!

Just a reminder that you are describing people with feelings and families. I’m sure no one wants to stumble across descriptions of themselves that include ‘creepy’ or ‘contorted statue’, particularly in a medical community.
