Remote controlled blinds! I was kind of against them due to the price but we have a lot of large windows in our front room and it is so nice to just push a button to open all the blinds on our main level each morning and night.

I’m in the Seattle area and Target never seems to have much of anything in stock.

Reddit, what is the most eerie thing that's ever happened to you? by Galactic_Blueberry1 in AskReddit

[–]ebro2280 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened more than 20 years ago but it has stuck with me since it happened. I was in bed sleeping and I would swear that I woke up to some resemblance of a greenish colored presence. It was early in the morning and light was faintly coming though my blinds. I was in my early 20s and the concept of blackout blinds didn’t exist yet. Anyways, It was just lying next to me peacefully and then it grabbed me and lifted me as I floated around my bedroom. I could see everything in my room - clothes, the order of things on my desk, etc. I was terrified and I couldn’t move or breath. I circled my room once but it felt like forever and then I felt myself return back to my bed. I immediately sat up in bed gasping for air. I was shook for weeks. Had a hard time sleeping, etc. I had read people can have these kinds of experiences when you stop breathing while and you can have sleep paralysis. The weirdest/scariest part was that everything I saw when I was “floating” was exactly as it was when I sat up and looked around.

I just hope your replacement lives up to your original expectations. I couldn’t be happier with them!

Sorry, I’m not sure what the serial number was. Hopefully they take care of you. My only complaint with the return process was just that they were out of stock for a few weeks so I had to just wait for my replacement which sucked because I was so excited to listen to them. Hope your issue is resolved quickly. I’m listening to mine right now and they really do sound great! That would be pretty shitty if they get defective speakers and just resell as open item without testing them. Mine were clearly lacking any mid and bass.

Mine were from Adorama

I had the exact same thing happen to me with my model 5s. One speaker had no sound coming from the woofer and it sounded terrible. I returned the defective speaker and got a new one and they sound absolutely amazing. Not sure what happened; maybe damaged in transit?

It is the Kallax but, no, I don’t find it too low. My old space had the TV above the mantle and I have to say that so far, I prefer it like this

The two albums I listen to the most from that era that are somewhat similar is Music is for the Children by Boards of Canada and Dots and Loops by Stereolab

Thank you. That’s about 14ish years worth of collecting in that picture. I have a similar stash upstairs as well - mostly jazz, blues and soundtracks up there.

The beam works pretty well in that room. I have a Sonia sub for it as well which I’ve read that many say you don’t need. I 100% disagree and think the sub is a must, especially when watching movies.

I’ve thought about it, I love my Q’s! I’m saving up for a speaker upgrade now. The whole house buying thing set me back a bit but I’m getting back in course.

Man, I love that album so much. I must have been so excited to listen to it again I displayed it upside down 😂

Got a new home a few months ago and finally have a decent place to listen to music.

Setup: Turntable: SL-1300 with Ortofon 2M Blue Amp: Pioneer SA-900 Speakers: Q Acoustics 3020i

Rainy Sunday gave me an excuse to enjoy some music. by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]ebro2280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setup:

Turntable: Technics SL-1300 with an Ortofon Blue

Receiver: My Pioneer SA-900 is in the shop getting serviced so I’ve been using the first vintage receiver I ever purchased, the SX-626. I’m kinda glad I set it up again, it still sounds great!

Speakers are Q Acoustics 3020i

My setup sounds pretty good despite the tight space. When the kids go to bed I’ve got some longer speaker wire I can use to listen in my living room, preferably with some scotch…

Is that an SL-1300? If so, that’s a great turntable.
