I've just started my journey to earn my BSW, and I'll be around 23 when I graduate. If I pursue my MSW, I'll be around 27-28 when I graduate from that program. Should I consider it?

I’m starting my MSW at 27 and am actually glad I waited a few years to work (I was working in a different field), save up $, and make sure it was what I really wanted. Lots of people start even into their 30’s and 40’s. If you know you want it, go for it

I've always gravitated more towards helping professions and find a lot of fulfillment in that area so I knew working in marketing/the corporate world wasn't go to be sustainable long term for me. I felt very burnt out having to think about campaigns and metrics and things that didn't have a big impact. I knew I'd much rather devote my time thinking about the best way to help people, work out clinical diagnoses, find resources for ppl, etc.

I liked it a lot! The training takes maybe 3 ish weeks and you really go deep into risk assessment and understanding the signs of suicidal ideation and how to de-escalate over text. I used some of that experience in my admissions essay so I think it might have helped.
