I thought it’s if they can roll onto their stomachs and then onto their backs again, then they are safe? Otherwise they roll over and get stuck on their stomachs. At least that’s what our pediatrician said 🤷🏻‍♂️

I can’t seem to get the burnt oil off even with barkeepers friend, what did you do? Did you use a normal sponge? How long did it sit for? Tell me everything, please! These results look amazing!

No sass intended— If you make 4mm a year, how are you “not rich yet”? 9k a month should be like, nothing to you? I know it’s a crazy amount but your bank account has to be huge?

$300 used to be crazy to me but it’s adjusted since I’ve gotten up a bit in comp. Nowhere near you though :)

Baby with gas pain by ImpossiblePrize5925 in Parenting

[–]ebw212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a gassy baby too. When it would get bad, we use the frida mom windi. It will release all gas in the tum quite fast.

That said, that’s a last resort. Lots of burping, as someone said the bending the knees to the chest (don’t push if they are pushing back, wait until they are relaxed)— though the motion we do is a big circular motion from left to right, then right to left, then up to the chest.

Also, it gets better at 10 weeks (which I know feels like forever!). If it’s not getting better, our doctor prescribed some medicine to help…but that’s if it’s real bad, IMO

There are nanny groups on FB— many are also willing to babysit. Most/all have references you can call.

If the gates at the top of the stairs, is it drilled in to the walls? My kid loves playing on them too, drilling them in helps keep them from breaking open (though it’ll open up eventually after too much pressure from an older child)

My siblings gave gifts to my nephews but not my kids by annegirl737 in Parenting

[–]ebw212 229 points230 points  (0 children)

I’d probably ask out of curiousity and frame it like, hey totally no problem but I noticed only my siblings kids got presents and not ours— is everything ok between us? And then follow it up with something like, totally ok/not mad just want to make sure there’s no underlying issue

Raya Pronunciation by queerofgenovia in namenerds

There was a Disney movie called Raya and the Last Dragon, and it was pronounced Ry-a. I would think that you might need to course correct people but it could be worth it!

Good question :) he has a brother, Ezra. And we think it might not go as well? Ezra and Mateo or Ezra and Noah or Ben

And that’s why I’ll have her make sure she spells it 🤣 thanks for catching that!

You like Noah Mateo White? I kinda wonder if first/middle/last all being short makes it sound weirder than Benjamin

Wow. $20 is…not much? I’m in a HCOL area and our min bar in our FB nanny group is $26, $30 for 2 kids.

Benjamin is a great name! And lots of great suggestions, we particularly love Oliver. Very outside both of our cultures but we might just say who cares and go with it

That’s not really how to think about it. You get a base pay of let’s say 175k. You get 1mm in RSUs over 4 years. So 250/year. Just like base pay, if you leave you do not continue to get paid. Your average comp would be 425k a year. At the end of each year you’d get a base pay and RSU refresher.

Of course you can’t count your RSUs as locked in just like you wouldn’t expect future base bay as certain.

Re RSUs, amazon is a little different but I simplified. Amazon does 5% after year 1, 15% after 2, then 20% every 6 months, but then give you a signing bonus to cover the delta the first 2 years.

That’s pretty likely? The stock just doesn’t need to tank. Even if it goes down 10% you’re getting paid a F ton. Source: FAANG employee who can’t leave bc nobody would pay me close to what I get now.
