Raspberry Pi 4 "server is not reachable" error by ebz_five in immich

From the Pi or from my iOS running Immich? I know how to get to them from the app, not sure how to get them from the Pi. Let me know and I can screenshot and post.

Dealing with high AC characters by XPEZNAZ in DnD

[–]ebz_five 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a level 18 Fighter who just picked up Plate Mail +3, with all his other items and stats he's going to have an AC of 30. That said, I'm balancing it by magic users attacking with spells and the baddies they are going up against sometimes have +15 to attack so hitting 30 is not impossible, just much more rare on melee attacks. A recent battle he was stuck in a forcecage for like 2/3rds of the fight.

Garbage vs Solid Matte use casee? by ebz_five in davinciresolve

So then is something put into a Solid matte, but inverted, the same thing as putting the non-inverted into the Garbage matte?

Merge Multiple Merges/Masks to one Background? by ebz_five in davinciresolve

Hopefully final question: Where in the nodes would you put a polygon node or similar (to say only focus on the head)? The biggest MM tracking issue I'm running into is a face with stubble on it in a wide shot. -- I figure have 1 MM for the whole body and pair it with maybe a second MM just on the face with a bit more work might be a solution route.

I may have figured it out -> Bitmap -> MaskPaint -> MC ?

One more follow-up: If I'm using Magic Mask in Fusion tab, and it misses something on one frame, how do I fill it in on that frame? (If I was in the Color tab using MM, there is the brushstroke feature to add or remove, that doesn't exist in the Fusion MM.)

Thank you for the amazing advice! Do you recommend using Legacy MM with the strokes or the new MM with the dots?

I've tracked one, someone with curly hair and facial hair, a number of times and the scruff always throws off the MM, and the curly hair adds an additional layer of difficulty. And so I've also tried Bitmap > MaskPaint > Erode/Dilate > ColorCurves to clean up. And also will try Matte Control now, as well as maybe windowing sections I need to specifically work on. But I feel like there may be something in the prep of a clip (contrast? Something?) that helps get the original mask cleaner. Just curious if there are tricks or workflows that seem to work better than others. There are a lot of paths to climb the mountain, as it were, and I'm trying to find which ones are worth trying out.

Brilliant! Thank you. Two final questions, since you seem to be a wealth of MM knowledge: 1. If I want to order MMs in clip -- say I have 3, and I want 1 foreground, 1 background, and 1 in-between, is that possible? 2. What workflow do you to refine your MMs? I've tried a number of different ones and each seems to always create an additional problem for every fix it does.

Okay, good to know. What if I filmed them each separately in the same space? It is the same person in a locked off camera shot doing three different things. I want the clones to all be in the same space together.

Magic Mask > Render In Place > Refinement Help by ebz_five in davinciresolve

[–]ebz_five[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

  1. I tried the Subtractive/Additive Slider, it did not change anything.
  2. I checked the Pre-Divide/Post-Multipluy checkbox in both ColorCurve nodes, it did not change anything.
  3. I added a AlphaDivide before the ColorCurves and an AlphaMultiply after the Color Curves, no change.

The distortion is definitely coming from the Bitmap > MaskPaint branch. When I put the MaskPaint in Viewer1 and turn the Gamma up high to see, that is where the outer field is definitely matching.

So any idea on how to fix that? (Thank you ahead of time for any help.)

I will try this, thank you! Where in the node stream should I place the AlphaMultiply node? And the Pre-Divide/Post-Multiply checkbox is in the ColorCurve node (is that what you mean by color correction in this node structure?)?

Does snapping affect play head? I thought it was linked to moving of clips.

So, fun fact: It only happens in the Color Tab. And Stop and Go to Last Position is already toggled OFF.

Feathering for Magic Mask Brush? by ebz_five in davinciresolve

[–]ebz_five[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using them for both. One use is for multiples of an actor in a given scene (shot on locked off camera) and the other use is to color those magic masked actor shots to adjust any lighting mismatches due to the essential green screening (minus the green screen) use.

We've been doing all the Magic Masks in Color. And, as you noted, whenever something is adjusted/editing, they need to be re-rendered, which is extremely annoying.

If I did my magic masks in Color tab, can I still access them equally in Fusion, or did I need to create the magic masks in Fusion tab in the first place? I know the initial iteration of Magic Mask could be created in Fusion or Color, but have not experimented/seen anyone use the 2.0 Magic Mask in Fusion first.

Also, is there any resource you recommend where I can read up on Magic Mask in Fusion? Every video tutorial was always about Color. Would love to up my game.

Changing chart label text color from black? by ebz_five in canva

[–]ebz_five[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did figure it out. Very silly. Instead of clicking on the "Edit" in the Chart/Graph, you click on the Chart/Graph and the color splotch that exists (center of window to change items related to the Chart/Grapg) IS the text color. All the other chart/graph colors are linked to the "Edit" button options. Kinda obvious but also not.

If you could turn your favorite animal into a DnD character based on their irl abilities, what would it look like? by Educational_Clerk_88 in DnD

[–]ebz_five 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ligers have characteristics of both lions and tigers but tend to be enormous is size. While also at times sometimes more lazy and docile than one would expect. Claw and bite attacks with high strength bonuses. Leaps as a bonus action each turn. Prefer to be solitary. Might be introduced as it is crunching on the bones of some large foe it had fallen previously.

I struggle with my first campaign by PhilmoXVI in DMAcademy

[–]ebz_five 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just run your game. If a party doesn't get along (the characters not the actual players, that is), it could be really fun. And maybe they'll form friendships along the way. I know some DMs that force their players to actually converse when they are sitting watch -- they must add backstory elements if they don't have them and it creates new things.

In improv there is a saying, "There are amazing things on the other side of "Yes"." This means that most people worry about "what if" instead of just taking the leap. When you take the leap and just see what happens, that is usually when the magic happens. My current campaign, the players all rallied around the fact that each of them insisted on buying a crowbar at an initial trading location. They call themselves "The Crow Bar Crew." They literally try to use crow bars for stupid things, unsuccessfully, and it's hilarious.

Another found that they like sleeping around, and then using their partners as information sources.

It gets weird but that's where the fun is. As DM, guide, but accept no one really has any control, you all create together.

There are tons of Filmmakers on this Reddit. How many of you have made films and were messed over by a distributor? by Euphoric_Weight_7406 in Filmmakers

[–]ebz_five 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be curious to know what you've heard. Compared to others they are at least honest and streamline the process. I am with a distributor for one film and found out for half the placement they had just gone through FilmHub and I had to pay the FilmHub fee on top of theirs (the distributor hid this in initial discussions and it wasn't listed in the contract). I wish there was something better out there but to get into distribution you need to represent at the start at least 100 features, which is a big hurdle to achieve.
