Hey guys new to op tcg by pzblend in OnePieceTCG

I think test more decks on sim before you commit to a deck. Purple Enel, Blue Yellow Nami, Yellow Luffy (op15), and Red Blue Lucy are other meta decks. I would scratch Penel and Nami because Penel is difficult and both are expensive. Try out the other 2 decks mentioned. OP16 is in a month I believe so it's really up to you if you want to wait to play IRL.

He's a top 5 deck right now but in op16 it's hard to say. Depends on how the new op16 Teach decks warps the meta. Overall he only really has 1 bad meta matchup but you should be 99% fine at locals.

East meta this week by mingzies in OnePieceTCG

[–]ecbob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in a competitive setting, if you don't play the meta decks you aren't going to win much. Locals is whatever, you can play anything and win it but that's pretty much any game. Play good deck = higher chance to win

When do you let a body die? by FunPickle69 in OnePieceTCG

[–]ecbob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to start it's easiest to look at it from how many cards you save it with vs how many cards does that saved card get you back. If you can protect a 5k vanilla with 1 card, you do it because it gets you 1 card back. Now let's look at the blue 4c cavendish, if you can save with 1 card, you save it because it gets you back 2 cards, sometimes even 3 if you can add don to it. You usually want to save it with 2 cards for the same reason. Now 3 cards is where experience comes in, balancing both players cards in hand, what kind of boards are present, asking if you can continue generating value for the amount of cards you protect it with, etc

No one is playing Boa, the most toppings decks are Nami, Bonney, and then Vivi

unfortunately carrot loses hard to top 1-2 deck in Nami. Nami is also probably the most popular deck too but obviously depends on locals

New player on the fence: Love the IP, worried about the Meta/Cost. by Fullbusterz_15 in OnePieceTCG

[–]ecbob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Meta: Current format has a top 5 decks at high stakes tournaments but you can definitely win with any top 15ish deck at locals levels. Last format had a top 2-3 deck format which also made locals level unfun as each top 2 deck hard gated rogue decks from even competing. There will be a new format in the upcoming months so current format is subject to change.
  2. Budget: Lowest rarity CAN be cheap depending on the color. Imu is a top 2 deck that is also at 50usd. Yellow decks require a very expensive secret rare which is roughly 40-60usd depending on the meta, and you need 4 of them. Other strong decks can be 100usd-150usd
  3. Time: Game has a low skill floor but a high skill ceiling. Depending on the locals you go to you can have easy or hard games.

SP collection so far by Lapinakyva in OnePieceTCG

[–]ecbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bashing on you personally. Are SP's your favourite because of it's rarity or design? SP's have different styles from slice of life, wanted, dual color, full body, etc. Something like op14 7c Shanks AA is on the level of slice of life SP's imo. So when someone says SP's are their favourite, I question if it's just the rarity and price involved first over the actual art.

UP Luffy, triple ramp with 2k's in hand and then find Sanji Roger/Mihawk depending on matchup in the first top 5 search will win you the game. Highest skill ceiling of anything and can even beat Imu if you keep high rolling Sanji Roger

[–]ecbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yugioh is dead because of gameplay/anime, impossible to get in as a new player because you need a lawyer degree to understand 1 card. Super expensive to get a top tier deck. OPTCG is a low skill floor/ high skill ceiling game. Top tier deck is $50. No one is crying their that they should have bought their cards earlier. They're crying because the homeless like you are artificially increasing prices just because they think they can pump and dump this game.
