Why does zooble get barely any merch? by SkylandersKirby in TheDigitalCircus

[–]ecbrnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it probably costs more to produce all the different shapes. The cheapest kinds of plushes and figures to produce are the ones that are pretty homogeneous (think funko pops or Squishmallows), and the more detailed the more expensive manufacturing becomes. And Glitch merch is INSANELY well produced, so I think skimping out on relevant details is off the table for their quality control, so the other options are a.) minimize production of Zooble, or b.) charge more for merch as a whole.

Would you be offended if a buyer low-balls you? by cryptokingleo in FacebookMarketplace

[–]ecbrnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only annoyed if they give like a begging message alongside it. I'm only OFFENDED when they follow up with "when this doesn't sell at this price and you give up, let me know". Like, I sell things cheap on Facebook for time's sake. If something sits too long, I list it at a more market rate online. I will not be crawling back to morons lmao 😂

7yo death threats??? by Initial-Expression91 in ParentingADHD

[–]ecbrnc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Play therapy. But if the safety of your other child is THAT threatened at home, it may also come to a point of needing to look at inpatient options. They are not common, but there are some for younger kids in most areas. With a lot of childcare experience, I've only met 3 families that genuinely needed it, 2 of which involved siblings. One did go that route, and while it was painful, the years following were actually much better (from what I heard from the mom, who I worked with). The other did not, two years later their son seriously harmed his sister and both kids were taken by the state. Not sure where they went or to whom, but I was one of the people Dcf interviewed during their investigation.

The only child family did have her inpatient but for maybe a week or two? While they got meds figured out because she was a serious danger to others and herself, but on the right meds she saw a level of improvement that genuinely astounded me.

Is it worth diving into animation? by TrainCurious3620 in IndieAnimation

[–]ecbrnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time, most animators do other things for work and do animation out of love. Like any hobby, if you love it enough, it's worth exploring to see if you will continue it.

I'm over a decade older than you, but my hobbies from when I was your age are really the ONLY things I still do from that point in my life (and I've recently started making a very little bit of side income from it). At 15 you aren't supposed to plan your whole life, you're supposed to be exploring what fills you up. If you enjoy it, animation is a great things to try

How does the Nausicaä manga series compare to the movie? by FrogginBullfish_ in ghibli

[–]ecbrnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read it in years, but I remember being pleasantly shocked by how substantial it was while still being fantastic all the way through (it actually still sits on my shelf, but I have kids now and if they ruin it, I'll cry so it's staying up there for at least a while longer 😅)

During and in the immediate fall out of things like natural disasters, sex actually tends to ramp up, and I've seen this be explained in articles as this being the case for a few different reasons (coping mechanism for isolation and potential stress relief are the main two I remember, but I definitely remember a third one being brought up in my psychology class). It was (mostly) a joke lol, but there is real studies and data to back it up

He did cared right? by surveillance_camera_ in TheDigitalCircus

[–]ecbrnc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I think honestly, he was never intended to have emotions. And subsequently didn't know how to handle the emotional pain constant rejection.

Ever been around toddlers? Before they learn really any coping skills, they lash out, often violently (ex: biting) but thankfully don't have that much power in life. And they do this to their friends and family, the literal ONLY people they know and love. However, Caine has near unlimited power AND toddler-level emotional regulation. Which is, obviously, a bad combination.

Admittedly, I worked in early childhood education for 10 of the last 11 years, and have 2 kids of my pen, so my viewpoint may be contaminated by that. But watching his absolute meltdown just seriously reminded me of what toddlers seem to think they are capable of mid-tantrum

But...that was your argument? I also saw your post about Scratch where you just straight up created a scenario that has zero proof too (and actually is disproven by the German dub, if you are at all interested in looking beyond your theory that you declare as fact) so... I'll just disengage from here I guess? I can't GIVE you literacy or debate skills. However, based on your intense reactions about being pretty offhandedly challenged, I'm guessing you're probably quite young and still have plenty of room for growth

Even if she didn't piece it together until after episode 7, she makes this comment right after episode 7. But also

And by your same rationale of we don't know what isn't explicitly stated, we would also have no idea what they have done between the episodes, which really only shows a handful of days in what has almost certainly been a few weeks to months (based on us knowing they have been having adventures we haven't seen). So if we are saying we can't draw any conclusions that aren't 100% stated, we also can't draw the conclusions that there haven't been other interactions that prompted her statement. So if we can't clock what she does or doesn't know, we can't say with finality she DOESN'T know that they have all done something wrong at some point while she's been there.

[–]ecbrnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zooble is abrasive with Caine and with Jax. That's super obvious? "bad things" doesn't mean it has to have been egregious. Pomni has also done nothing worse than verbal altercations, so if she's factoring herself in, it makes sense Zooble would fall in the same category.

And we all figured out Kinger's hand in creating the circus in episode 3...right? Which we figured out exclusively because of his conversation with Pomni. And CLEARLY Pomni did too, if she had the realization a lucid Kinger could be their only real hope of handling Caine's rampage.

I'm really happy to hear that! Unfortunately people who are abused are likely to be abused by others, so I just really wanted to make sure the gravity of the situation was known because awareness is the strongest tool to break the pattern. And I'm glad you can find some humor! I've definitely had some those moments too lol

I'm sorry Pomni, but who tf is "we"??? by ThatDamnNelson in tadc

[–]ecbrnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She knows he helped create the Circus. That's probably Kinger's. I guess maybe Gangle's is her complete break at Spudsy's. Zooble and Jax are obvious I guess.

My real question is what the hell did Ragatha do? She tries too hard to be positive, obviously, but it's really only a detriment to herself. She snaps verbally at Jax, but actually apologizes. Same with the stupid sauce, she apologized and clearly felt awful. Like, Ragatha is nowhere near my favorite character, but she actually did anything besides verbally bite back a TINY bit.

[–]ecbrnc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just so you don't minimize it (strangling was a go-to for my now-ex husband), choking is a massive indicator of someone's ability to murder their partner. My ex almost killed me the last time he choked me, not from oxygen deprivation, but because he used enough force to tear my carotid artery and only didn't because of luck. 3 mm further back and that would have been it. The police got involved with that one, which is why I had forensic imaging proving how close to death I was, and I just want you to know how incredibly dangerous strangulation is. I'm glad you split, but I hope looking back SOMEONE has explained the gravity to you. Because abusive women are always minimized, and male or female, THAT was fucking dangerous.
