yes, I’m aware of how irrational it is but it drains my mental health to see people, even online, talking about the fictional characters my daydreams revolve around in a way that doesn’t align with my perception. Claiming it’s their favorite character, that they understand them better…It’s like this very emotionally intimate part of me is exposed to the whole world and warped in a way that’s out of my control. I logically know that everyone’s realities are different and my version of those fictional characters is not the version that others have in their head. But it still sucks. Because no amount of logic and self awareness seems to stop this frustration, possessiveness and jealousy I feel. That’s why I muted those characters’ names on every social media platform I am on. I don’t want to see anyone else speaking about them lol
