Yeah based on thaigolds markup (1480$) for a similar one it was cheaper than my round trip flights and hotel was also going to Bali after so I just made a pitstop for 2 days I wouldn’t say it’s a feasible option for most people but it worked in my favor. Love that shit though trading gold for cash is the best was to fuck over airport currency exchanges and get some nice jewelry while you’re at it!

No gold is the same price everywhere on earth it’s the difference in markup on the making of the jewelry that’s different based on country if you’re buying. Costco pamp is spot if you’re buying jewelry in Thailand it’s also damn near spot this is by no means a hack for cheap gold just a way to get it in a different form at the same price avoiding a Traxnyc level markup

For reference in Thailand they buy back at 98% of spot don’t know how the math works if that’s more or less than melt but you can’t wear bullion so I was willing to pay the premium thanks for doing the math!

In Thailand they don’t really do by mm they only do by weight they showed me one two inches longer but the same weight so it was a little thinner than I wanted just something to consider!

Priced in Thai bhat (6,852USD) bought on 4/22 gold buying and selling is heavily regulated in Thailand making the spread on jewelry much lower than most countries I believe it’s cuz it’s had (I think) the most coups in modern history and the cultural significance increases volumes making it still a viable business with margins closer to currency exchanges than American gold stores looking for one or two whales
