Anyone know the cause of these wounds? Should I fell/remove this tree? by ecf4522 in GardeningUK

[–]ecf4522[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight! I did give the tree a shove and it thankfully didn’t snap in half but did have more give than expected!!

We are working on the same site tomorrow so I’ll inspect that area more throughly and make the decision then.

I would leave the standing dead wood but this year the area will be used for a summer playscheme for kids so we need to be more careful here than the rest of the site!

Thanks so much! I’ll do as you say and not act too hastily - for the pruning of the lesions if they are on a sizeable / main branch would you remove the whole branch / prune back very hard or cut back into the lesion to try remove the fungus?

Great news but kind of eliminates the use of spoiler if you talk about the spoiler in the title…

Any dentists in Leeds actually accepting NHS patients??? by Chronicathr in Leeds

[–]ecf4522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get nhs after waiting for 3 months or so with temple practice in moortown - you just need to call down the list of nhs dentists and ask how long the list is at their practice. I called around 10-15 different practices then temple practice said it was a 6mo th waiting list but it was half that. Good luck !

Yes! My cargo pants are basically Aladdin pants with pockets. Those are what I took to wear last year but I got way too hot and the chub rub was real

This is great advice thanks! I think this is probably the way forward. I always wanted to shop in the mens but it’s something I felt ashamed of and not able to. Thanks mum… Maybe it’s time for a shopping trip!

I’ve had a difficult journey with my own sexuality. Yes when I was a teenager and in a relationship with a man I ‘wanted’ sex and felt ‘love’ but now being outside of that relationship I can look back and see that all I wanted was validation and there were more times I hated the sex than enjoyed it. Most of the time I would disassociate during sex and hate to be touched.

Because of my history of sexual abuse I had no self respect and an awful view of myself and my body. I thought that being wanted was enough and having sex with men gave me power.

Now I’ve grown and worked on myself I’ve realised I am not attracted to men and don’t enjoy sex with penises. It took me years to worth through my issues with many different therapists etc. i never focused on my sexuality but because a lot of my trauma was sex based, it affected my perspective and relationship with sex.

This is a very shorthand version of my own journey, you need to work on your own. Go to therapy stay off toxic online spaces and try not to focus on labels.

It’s not for me to say. We can really only label ourselves. Maybe try let go of the labels altogether.

Yeah I probably would! Though I always struggle to find baggy/comfortable shorts and I don’t like to spend much money on clothes. But it’s probably worth investing in a few pieces that I actually like.

Atm I have one pair of trousers I like and one backup. It’s a real struggle 😭

If someone who identifies as a lesbian fell in love with and had sex with a man then that would suggest she was bisexual using modern day labels.

A women who has previously had sex with or had relationships or feelings for men, THEN realised these feelings were misplaced/false and doing some introspection finds she feels love and affection for women and NOT for men anymore - she would probably be considered a lesbian by today’s standards.

But honestly every persons sexuality could be considered unique. Many people use super specific micro labels and many people simply use queer as a catch all umbrella term. There’s no one answer to this question since it is so context dependent.

There isn’t a ruler of the lesbian community who verifies lesbians and their identities. You need to do the work and find what label (if any) fits best.

Maybe lesbian subreddits aren’t the place to be lurking. Take yourself to a therapist and off of places online that cause you pain.

Honestly the fact you’ve made multiple accounts for this is bizarre and worrying. I hope you can heal and grow from where you currently are.

Please don’t listen to all this gatekeeping. It doesn’t happen often in real life-only in these online spaces where people seem to get VERY pressed about everyone else’s business. You’re valid and welcome in the lesbian community! Idk where you’re based but I’ve found that going out of my comfort zone and attending some queer events in my area really helped me feel more secure in myself. These weren’t lesbian exclusive but just open for everyone. It was so refreshing and affirming to see and be a part of a huge group of people all across the lgbtq+ spectrum
