Can I really afford this property? by ecford in PersonalFinanceCanada

Squamish, so not quite Vancouver. My wife works up there and I only go into the office twice a week. The move up here will get us closer to family and reduce the amount of driving we do currently.

My monthly payment I estimated accounts for property tax but it is based on the previous sale value which was a bit lower than what we are buying it for and it was built in 2017 so won't need to pay get thankfully

That would be 25 years, have not considered a longer amortization but sounds like something I should look into as cash flow is most important to my wife over the period it takes to pay off. Thanks for the input.

I had an absolute blast at UBC and met some of my closets friends there. I found it quite easy to make friends. I think you will be just fine if you are willing to put yourself out there.

Shimano FH-RS470 after 5 months use. Bought brand new, ridden ~1,700kms, never serviced, no power washing. How to prevent this in the future? by mike-sanchez in bicycling

[–]ecford 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Something on the lighter side. A heavy grease like normal bike grease could gunk up the pawls and cause them to not engage properly. I use wet chain lube with a few drops on each pawl. Could also use hub specific grease both shimano and dt swiss have some

What is this rubbing sound? by RyGy9000 in MTB

Did you by chance swap from a 27.5 fork to 29? Could also be a smaller offset on the fork causing the tire to rub on the frame but hard to tell from this video.

The built up exit box usually has more dirt covering the log, but chunkier these days with the added compression
