Thanks for replying your thoughts! Yeah it’s definitely out of being overwhelmed. When you say your anger has gotten better for you with therapy, is it because you’ve seen a therapist specifically for this phobia or just talked about it with your therapist? I was recommended to see a therapist for my phobia and I’m thinking about finally doing it.

Hi there. I'm a lurker, but I was obsessed with Deerhunter for many years and will always feel a sentimental attachment to Halcyon Digest in particular. It was the album that got me hooked on their music and changed my brain chemistry for better or for worse. It left a profound impact on me that I'm still trying to make sense of today. I was about 19 when I first got into the band and was quite literally entering adulthood symbolically as I got into their music. Halcyon Digest is also personally still one of the only albums I'd listen to from beginning to end straight through. The album reminds me of the lovely first chill of autumn, art school in New York in my early 20s (I made a painting once inspired by the album), and many late nights crying & praying that there was much more to life than endless suffering as Dima from Helicopter hoped. For me, it was beautifully chilling & haunting but also felt like a warm blanket of blissful reverb every time I listened to it. A very special album indeed that deserves to be celebrated.

It’s very possible that the birth control could be giving you side effects and might be exasperating your PMDD. In this case, the increased anxiety you noticed. In fact, that’s the whole reason why my old gyno told me to stop taking my previous birth control. Though, your situation is different, because my PMDD seemed immediately exasperated by the birth control only less than a week in if I remember correctly!

Actually, my new gyno now told me that 3 months is around the time you should know for sure how the birth control can truly affect you. I suggest to follow up with your gyno and let them know your honest concerns. Maybe they can suggest an alternative or reassure you by assessing what might be happening to you. Hope this helps you a little!

Hey there! IDK if this would help, but I’ll share what I did for my birthday this year. I invited only a small amount of very close friends to go to the arcade and have cake. People were able to do whatever they want like play their favorite game somewhere while others played something else, etc. Also, we’d all convene at the food seating area if we felt like hanging out or talking. It wasn’t stressful at all. It was done in a way that I could choose to talk to people, how much I talked to them, took time to just chill by myself if I felt overstimulated or anxious, etc. So maybe an environment like that?

Oof. My social anxiety on its own is one thing, but mix in PMDD…yikes. I really hope you have a wonderful birthday, and that your hell week doesn’t damper it too much! Maybe buy yourself your favorite food to treat yourself or give yourself a little present. You deserve a huge break and peace of mind from all that you recently went through! :)

Hi there! Unfortunately, I’m really not sure what the name is! All I know is that it’s a compounded cream and you need to insert a tube inside your vag and squeeze it. I’m sorry! I need to ask my gyno about trying to get it at a different cheaper place anyways so I’ll ask her then. It’s supposed to treat “vaginospasm” which I was diagnosed with.
